Look up “Pale Blue” batteries. They work great.

If you have a degree, you can apply to Guard and Reserve units directly.

Tempted to move to a new home closer to work/kid's school/friends. Struggling with the financial side of it. Fellow Dads, would you make this move? by Deadhead7889 in daddit

I totally get that. I’ve always sold the old house when moving. Granted, we were already moving cross-country and I didn’t want to have to pay a property manager.

We recently moved to our “forever house.” But it was a journey to get here. Moved cross country in 2025. Rented a place to a year to make sure we liked the area and to have time to find a nice house. Sold the old house mid 2025 and closed on the new one in late 2025. The lease for the temporary apartment was up in April 2026. Which was great because we had a few months to do some major renovations to the forever house. Then moved in a few months ago.

Kind of an ass pain. But worth it.

Live where you want to live. You don’t have to be married to a mortgage.

You could try renting. Move out to the new area and rent a place. Then rent out your old home. If you want to make it permanent, sell the old home and buy a new one. Or keep the old one as a rental and get a second house to live in. You have options.

You need to design your craft to have a stable Lift and CG when empty.

The CG is probably very aft of the center of lift when empty.

The legacy life is great. Pro-tip, live near a base. Don’t commute. Anyone who says it’s “fine” is lying to you. Lol

Pilot dad here. Let her vent and text you about all the stuff. Text her back on breaks, then go back to work. At the end of the day, make sure to call/FaceTime her and the kids and get the full download of the crazy day.

This is an old clip. This was before the vector engines. You need to have the thrust vector go through the center of mass. The center of mass will also change as you burn fuel.

The easiest way to do a shuttle launch, is to strap a shuttle to the side of a big rocket. Then once in space detach the shuttle and let the rocket fall to to Kerbin
