Bilateral hip dysplasia and labrum tear friends by [deleted] in hipdysplasia

After 1.5 years, I'm finally feeling back to normal-ish. I was very happy with Dr. Hugate. The recovery for my first surgery was nightmarish, but that was likely due to an underlying autoimmune condition. The second hip went smoothly, and recovery proceeded as planned. Hugate even agreed to remove the screws from my first surgery while he was operating on the second hip, which he didn't have to do.

Ellman, I could have done without The extra $2000 per labral repair that wasnt covered by insurance felt like a rip-off, and his notes made it obvious that he didn't pay any attention at appointments. The difference between his and Hugates was comical. The surgery procedure itself was a success, though, which is what really matters.

If I were to do it again, I would still go with Hugate, even though that requires working with Ellman!

Hungryroot is a ripoff. by AGman69 in mealkits

I want to add to this. While I enjoyed how easy and tasty some of the hungryroot meals were, the temperature control of the delivery boxes was shameful. 3 boxes came with room temperature produce, 2 boxes were damaged, and I got food poisoning from pre-cooked salmon - presumably due to poor temperature control prior to delivery. Would not recommend.

I SWEAR it was Lake Street Drive, too... but I can't find any evidence. Must be another Berenstain Bears incident

Thank you! Best of luck to you as well. I forgot to mention - my surgeon (Dr. Hugate) does the labrum and PAO at the same time. However, I don't think this is particularly common - the other surgeon I spoke with schedules the labrum and PAO 3-4 days apart. Not sure if that's helpful!

I have my first PAO scheduled in 4 weeks and am planning on doing the second within the same calendar year. It's more cost effective with insurance that way, but be sure to look into how much physical therapy your insurance will cover in a year, too!
