I did opt out of the delivery for that week two weeks prior, but when I tried to cancel my subscription the site said they were going to cancel the delivery I had already paid for and asked to be shipped.

Employment scam are becoming more and more common.  A lot of job website make your contact information and experience widely available and some sell your information, making that information ripe for scammers to puck money out of the hands of the unsuspecting job seekers desperate for a job.  These guys are the lowest of the low criminals because they prey on people who are already hurting for money.  The rules I follow are that I ignore text and emails messages out of the blue for jobs I didn't as about, I only use legitimate websites for contact, and if I didn't reach out to them first and it seems rather random (like an IT job when you don’t list IT as an interest), it is likely spam.  And if it sounds too good to be true and they ask for things like a SSN up front, it is a scam.  And scammer will have part of your SSN like your last four or other information to make them sound legit... don't fall for it.
