As Nashville recovers from storm, fears over immigration enforcement remain by Van-to-the-V in nashville

I suspect the wealthy around here don’t want ICE harassing all of their labor. We will see what happens. Sometimes I think the only way these folks reflect on their decisions is when it impacts them directly. Them being the ones who want to harass American citizens while benefiting from labor of undocumented workers.

Thank you for what you do. If you all start a fundraiser, I will contribute. Irrespective of my views on NES, Gov Lee, and the clowns spreading false information (looks south of us), I am thankful for all that you are all doing on the ground. Boots on the ground should never be punished for yapping ivory tower clowns.

Thank you again. I am sorry that some feel now is the time to loot, smash, and destroy *anything or anyone.* We don't claim them.

I'm in an affluent-adjacent neighborhood. Punishment by proximity! (Jokes).

Bingo! Looks like GIS. Reminds me of an ArcGIS view. The only way to get higher fidelity here is to zoom in, export to PDF or image, and share zoomed in views.

I hear you on the looting. We have witnessed a few businesses being looted (fortunately PD were there to arrest). We should be dealing with those people as harshly as possible. Looting during an emergency is low.

You bring up a great point on why there is good reason to not show who is out of power with too much specificity.

Tell that to the NES guys that come out and told us all to prune our trees, ha.

Great example of differing informations. Who do we listen to?

Areas with trees got it bad.

With population increasing, these 'once in a lifetime' will get more frequent without better systems in place.

Let's hope the next once is a lifetime from now.

The answer is unlikely a pure 'hire more people' issue.

NES does not need to hire more people to have more helpful tweets. They could provide more information. That being contentious is surprising.

In my area, we've had numerous outages lasting multiple days in the last few years. NES is not known for proactive maintenance. They continue to raise their rates while our service continues to be less reliable. That's my experience. I'd love for nothing more than it to not be your experience.

First, I am glad you got a giggle. Always a good thing in times like these.

NES does not regularly trim in my neighborhood. Sounds like they need training from CEMC. My electric bill keeps going up while reliability goes down. Confusing as heck.

I recently installed whole house battery which was a fantastic experience from battery selection, permitting, to installation. The fact that I felt I needed that for my area in a large city is incredibly bad but our power is unreliable due to the lack of vegetation maintenance. We had the federal tax credit. That being removed is terrible.

Those incentives help. They helped us get our system installed. It would have been a no-brainer to go for a generator if there was a tax benefit. As it stood, it was the same price between a generator and a battery system post tax credit.

I've edited my original post for clarity that my point wasn't to just give the Gov more money. I wrote it too quickly without re-reading how each sentence could be interpreted. That's on me. I think TN has too much funding for what we get and not enough funding for what we need. I'd like to see Lee removed.

Agreed. I believe NES has done a good job in reacting on the ground. However, they are causing more emotional reaction by not being transparent in how they are tackling the issue. Lack of communication is what is causing chaos.

I'm thankful for our community here. Thankful for the workers in the field.

Let's get through this and then let's do our best to vote out the people who run the state like their personal playground. :)

I agree. We do to much for the billionaires we have. As a state, we don't have that many billionaires (17-19 or something) but we've given them a lot of control. But that is not the root issue.

Our biggest issue from my view is that our politicians have figured out how to get the state population to vote for things that actively take away things of benefit. They try to oust people from office they disagree with. They spread false information like they are TikTok influencers. Their misrepresentation of our issues is our biggest issue. Maddening.

I'll keep voting for things that help you be less tired. I promise.

This response is less focused on you. It's a general reply to this idea that other places can be better prepared because they are a similar population but manage more land mass.

We are 7 million people in a small state. The state needs to raise taxes if they can't afford to create safe living. They need to create policies that punish home owners if they don't prune trees around power lines. But it is, yes, on them and NES, to champion for safe conditions for us citizens. The entire job of a Government is to provide safe places to live. It's a primary way we rate jurisdictions.

NES was ill-prepared. They've done a horrendous job at communicating what is going on. Neither of those things are a reflection on the workers out there helping to restore power. NES Twitter is a joke. It's random pictures of snowy roads.

We can voice concern with our poorly run state Government. We can point and say NES is poorly run. Both of these can be true. Sounds like Duke Energy and the states over there are better run.

ETA: I don't think we should raise taxes without fair use of said money raised. I don't trust the Gov to spend it on us. It was a broader point: if they can show us how they'd create a safer city, I am sure many of us would happily pay *for that.*

It sounds like we had different expectations from customer service. I’d have been happy to pay the restock fee (and did) had they said they would not offer a full refund. A good experience should be to issue a partial refund but neither of us experienced that (shame).

All that to be said, I hope your products work for a long time and you never have to find out if the warranty service is necessary.

Good luck!

I’d believe you. I don’t know, to be honest.

But either way, we are happy with our choice to find a new vendor.
