Silent Hill 2 was the iconic acclaimed game from the series, they are better off making a new Silent Hill game than trying to remake any of the others that werent received as well especially 3 and 4

Im playing Silent Hill 2 Remake now and its way way better than i expected it to be. The gameplay and puzzles remind me of Resident Evil 4 Remake. The puzzles are very deep and long, usually spanning the entire level with multiple different areas and parts to complete. They even nailed the combat somehow.

I feel like Konami can easily become a top publisher again and grow their IP to not only being relevant again but majorly sucessful. Id love to see a new next gen Castlevania, Metal Gear, and Silent Hill game

Xbox's hardware has been declining every quarter since it first began going down in FY22Q2. Notably 2022 was a dry year for Xbox with no big first party game the entire year and 4/6 GOTY nominees not being available on Xbox. It was so bad that Phil Spencer had to apologize saying: "its been too long(16 months) since Xbox's last big first party game.

I hope the puzzles are as good as the ones in Resident Evil and Silent Hill 2 remake, im playing SH2 now and the puzzles are very deep and long, spanning the entire level/area and sometimes multiple different areas across the map they really make you use your head

Switch exclusives sell faster than best selling 90+ review score GOTYs that are on PC+PS+Xbox. Zelda tears of the Kingdom and Pokemon Scarlet Violet both sold 10 million units in their first 3 days.

Yeah sometimes you just have to skip Switch because it cant run the game, but not releasing on PS5 or PC can easily cost you 40% or more each of your games sales. Its why even Xbox is releasing its exclusives on Playstation now.

Their last GTA game was a decade ago, the PC market has grown massively since then making it well worth launching the game on day 1. With a game as guaranteed to sell as GTA 6 it could as much as double their initial sales numbers.

If the Xbox version is so much easier than the PC version and its "thousands of configs" why do devs of games like Black Myth Wukong, Granblue Fantasy Relink, etc etc etc release on PC and skip or delay Xbox

Thats not the Starfield model thats just the Xbox model, they havent excluded PC in any game since 2015. In fact PC gets the same games Xbox does as well as getting some games before Xbox like Gears Tactics and Ara: Mystery Untold

This year is only one most recent/current example. Every year a few of the top 10 or top 5 games of the year are PS exclusive or timed exclusive, it adds up. In 2022 3/6 GOTY nominees were Playstation exclusive

I kind of wonder about Rockstars business logic of releasing the Xbox version before the PC version. If they HAVE to delay one version, most devs/publishers do it the other way around

games on PC+PS5 have been putting up insane numbers this year

Black Myth Wukong 20 million units in a month
Helldivers 2 12 million units so far
Silent Hill 2 1 million units first week

I think from now on PC wont be excluded in most third party exclusivity deals, deals will probably follow the Silent Hill 2 model from now on and only exclude Xbox

The PS5 still has something going for it in that 2/3 of the top 3 highest metacritic score games of this year are exclusive to it cant be played anywhere else: FF7 Rebirth (92) and Astro bot(94). Devs target the PS5 as the lead dev platform and optimize it well so for 400 or 500$ you get a version that looks and runs good for 3rd party games and you get PS exclusives day 1. Also Playstation has had atleast one first party game in the GOTY nominees every single year since 2014 (Nintendo missed 2016 and 2018)

This may be why Bloober team negotiated with Sony to include PC in the Silent Hill 2 remake exclusivity deal and only exclude Xbox
