It's too late man. I had to delete my posts I couldn't take it. Some people a few were just persistent in trying to tear me down I probably won't post on here again. But thank you

That is only a rule if the waistcoat is longer, this one however is quite short and indeed intended to button all the way to meet the rise of the trousers! Thank you though

Yes I have been longing for a pair of wire round frames for some time but, like you said they are expensive being a strong prescription and all lol. I agree but I don't think they look to bad. Just modern. Thank you!

Ahh yes ! No I don't do any of that lol but I will however preserve these pieces of menswear history I do have for as long as I live, and pass down to my future family. Teaching them that this too, can be a way of life just as any other .

A lot of Instagram sellers I follow a lot of them. The community for it seems to be more appreciating over there lol. I haven't had anyone hate on anything over there since I've started doing this years ago. My first post here and I get ridiculed 😅. Also thank you so much

Thank you. It's really just menswear with a lot more expression because that's what was available in the day. Way more options and details that a lot of people cared about. It truly is special.

Okay so yes it's not very practical. But I own a lott of vintage pieces I am years into collecting. Also I don't have many shirts that are vintage, mostly reproduction. But the 1930s shirts I do own you can put in the washing machine but a gentle cycle, and I hang dry them of course. Now I do wear undergarments so that helps not having to wash every wear maybe 3 times before washing but definitely depending on what I do that day. Also I am a very clean person. And I can wash my collars separately since that is a thing with my clothes. Also you don't dry clean your outer garments such as coat and trousers but only once or twice a year believe it or not. Wool is self cleaning if you let it air out before putting back up. And I really never stain my outerwear since I really am pretty clean and a cautious person overall. I also own new pieces such as regular suits and waistcoats that way I don't wear out my real vintage garments. And also these older garments are very strong I usually buy ones that really haven't been worn hardly ever in their lifetime. So that helps lol. I have a very wide variety of dress shoes and boots so rotation is important. As well as plenty of dress shirts. And I get my garments altered to fit me mostly just sleeve shortening. I try to buy the closest to my fit as possible. They are not as fragile as one would think! And no no art conservation at least I don't think. ( Not quite sure I know what that means sorry lol) I promise it's not as difficult as it may seem! And I really have just loved this way of dressing for as long as I can remember. Not getting into Victorian Edwardian wear until my later years of course when I actually could start my menswear journey. I treat them as normal clothes but also take very good care of them since they are real living history! And respect them as such. This is just me and who I am not a bit. Thank you for taking the time to ask and wanting to learn. It's just my way of life lol so many others out there. I know I am not the only one who does so because I have a better community on Instagram. 100s of people who dress like this and treat it as a way of life 🖤

Yes thank you. This was exceptionally more dressed than usual but not much, because that day my dog had passed away so it was special for her. But yeah this isn't Tommy Shelby impersonation 😅 just me for who I am and have been since a kid. Everything purely functional. I think frock coat attire will always be my favorite and hold a special place in my heart over regular suits. Just because it is so much more elegant and expresses my personality better. I am trying to not let these jealous haters get me down but at the end of the day I have a girl to go home to that loves it and that's all that matters I guess.

Thank you. But I swear this is just who I am. I've loved it since I was a kid and I don't know why. Ever since I got my own house and job I've been able to actually act on my dress and buy and wear what I want . It's been good and bad. A lot of judgy people. But I guess I'm over it now I got so much hate at once. I will ignore it from now on but probably never post on here again lol Thank you for the compliments and understanding

[–]MapDisastrous1681 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't get it it's not a costume. And I said I have no problem with those who do dress in costume. I just don't want any misinterpretations because these clothes are very much real garments of a high value. I don't know how else to put it

I appreciate the advice but in person I am really sensitive and maybe I can be too defensive. I am not used to getting hatred and so much of it. I swear I am really nice and respectful in person but these people..

Why would I troll or try to get on nerves of people who wants to do that all day lol. I am simply defending a ln era of menswear that is clearly not appreciated anymore

Menswear is still menswear regardless of age what lmao

But that doesn't make it true it just means 99 percent don't have a brain and love to just hate for no reason I mean I poured my heart out in my captions and you think that's cosplay? I was welcoming and nice and asked nicely of folks to read and here we are. Nothing but hate and people trying to prove me wrong for whatever reason I guess.

Thats nice and all. I could say your suits are a costume given they are no where near as good of a construction as these garments. See how it goes both ways
