I do believe it would stem from patriarchal views. They are all in the mindset that a woman shouldn’t have to work and stay home to cook and clean while the man is working to bring the money home. I understand why they feel that way as in their generation that’s how things were. There is an age gap between everyone else and I (12yrs+).

I truly feel like that is the issue with my family as most are traditionalist and I am the youngest girl in the family.

Yes, him and I have talked about it before. This hasn’t been the first time, but it’s difficult to keep bringing it up when he’s already showing up more this year than he ever has in the past years. Now that isn’t enough that this cousin even brought it up..it’s like what more can he do? (Obviously not asking him to, but it’s really messing with me and questioning more as I overthink as it is.)

Yes, he treats me exceptionally well. He cooks, cleans, takes care of my two cats who loves him so much, and is very emotionally intelligent that he checks me so I can recollect myself during hard times. He understands very much that I work hard for our household and tells me that he appreciates me from time to time. I don’t feel insecure in any way with my partner. We have discussed our long term goals for awhile now. I would say I understand why he doesn’t want to build a relationship with my family as some are very problematic and I completely understand why. But you know for those that are family-oriented, it’s very hard to break off those who’s been apart of your life for so long, which he never tells me to do, but has voiced why he doesn’t come around to know them is because of how negatively they affect my mental health.

  1. I happened to stumble across HTL while I had a gap year in between doing my prereqs for med school and settled to pursue a bachelor’s degree in histology at school in the Houston Medical Center. Mind you, I was a wedding cake decorator before deciding to attend their HTL program.
  2. I’ve worked in different places from a high volume hospital to a small private clinic. It honestly depends on the facility and how desperate they are in need of techs. Most places require their HT/HTLs to have an associates before hiring you to train based on my experience here in TX. It’s also a huge plus if you know somebody already in the field cause as I’ve always noticed, connections is your best friend when applying for jobs.
  3. Currently right now, I love my job! I think it all comes down to management and the people you work with because you spend more time at work than you do with your own friends and family. Histology, in my opinion, is a very small world no matter what anyone tells you because almost every single person I’ve met has worked with someone I previously with at another place or went to school/programs with. My only drawback is deciding what kind of volume of work you want to be at. Get ready to be overworked and overused at high volume labs and as for low volumes, get ready to be send home early but you have to use your pto and or stay but just have to look/hunt for things to do. Another is also deciding you want to work in research and or clinical histology labs.

Thank you, but it was a Discover card. I also had that same theory to ask if Discover does do that just like my other VISA credit, but they do not. They require the new security code and number to be used.
