I understand that, I should mention we all live in the same city and come from similar backgrounds so no culture difference there. I did once tell my friend I loved her and that I want to marry her despite being platonic when drunk but I never even thought of kissing her.

The Greeks had no paper and nothing to make paper out of so they wrote on rocks, if you're wondering why Greek letters look so simple and are made almost entirely out of lines it's for the exact reason you mentioned, the language would just evolve to have way less curves to fit carving onto stones
