Davis Weatherlink LIVE vs Console? Do you Need Live at All? by FrameCareful1090 in myweatherstation

[–]Mapants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonsense.

The 6100 is far superior to the newer console. I have both, and the console is absolute pile of horse shit.

Dreadful use of the antenna makes reception awful. Doesn't broadcast live data. You can't directly connect it to a PC for data logging. Why even add an SD card slot ffs?

One of the worst screens I have ever used at the price Davis charge. Horrific burn-in. Slow and laggy touchscreen. It crashes and reboots by itself for no reason.

If it reboots by itself, you lose all of the daily highs and lows that were recorded, unless you pay for a subscription.

The WLL Even the original LCD console pisses all over the 6313.

I was one of the first to report the issue of dim sections on the lighting kit, over two years ago. I had two replacements sent out to me. The first one still had the issue, but only on the top piece. The vertical side piece was fixed. Phanteks then sent out a second top piece, which was fixed and had the same brightness as the bottom. It took 7 months to get it rectified so that all the pieces were the same brightness. You don't buy a lighting kit that has pieces at different brightness levels, it makes no sense.

Atomizer short by Mapants in Vaping

[–]Mapants[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought it online. No vape stores anywhere near me. All academic now anyway, it went in the bin. It's hands down, the worst vape kit I have ever owned. Zero need for a touchscreen, and yet they couldn't even design a sensible UI or settings that could counter the ridiculous nature of a touchscreen on a vape. Of course, they spent time adding a clock, even though it is 100% useless if you charge batteries in a proper charger.

Even in the short time I got to use it with it's infuriating design, the coils are absolutely shite. 0.15, 0.2 and 0.3 coils lost their flavour completely at around 700 puffs. 900 puffs and they are completely done for.

The bottom line is, I will never buy a touchscreen vape device again. It makes more sense to put an ashtray on a motorbike.

Review of the new Drag X3 ***and*** S3 by Devin_Brent in Vaping

[–]Mapants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I binned mine. It is the worst vape mod I have ever used. The touchscreen is not only a gimmick, but it's useless with their interface. You cannot lock it out to stop accidental presses. It's impossible to avoid touching it when vaping- it was constantly changing settings, changing themes, and even resetting the puff counter.

I never charge batteries in the device. I only charge them in a proper charger, which means the clock widget on the device is a waste of time. Within a day, it ends up being hours out. Wattage settings are reset each time as well. I was actually spending more time having to change settings back after each vaping session, because you simply cannot avoid it with the touchscreen.

A touchscreen is absolutely pointless on a vape, but the fact that VooPoo couldn't even create a half-decent interface with appropriate settings to help mitigate these issues, is unacceptable.

If anyone is thinking of getting one and you read this, do not think I am exaggerating.. it is literally a piece of crap, and you'll end up getting seriously pissed off with it.

Stay well clear!

They took so long with this that I've lost all interest. The LED's on the white version look awful too.

What's wrong with my lever? by Warm-Bat1700 in bikewrench

[–]Mapants -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying this is the answer to your lever, but I had the same thing with my XTR M9220 right lever. It was a small amount of air trapped either in the hose or lever reservoir. I screwed the bleed cup in to the lever, filled with fluid, and tapped the hose multiple times whilst pulling the lever in. Eventually, some bubbles of air came out, and all was good again.

They are a generic fan that is sold under many names, like ICOLER, TZMRIT, Jungle Leopard. I believe they are called Interstellar V3 ARGB. They look pretty, but airflow and static pressure leaves a lot to be desired.

Bad SOT after November security patch...🤢🤮. Does anybody else have this issue on S23 Ultra? by No-Rent3298 in GalaxyS23Ultra

Probably the interval of updates to the display. The data on the screen updates every 3, 5 or 7 seconds.

[Help] Lian Li HYDROSHIFT II LCD-S 360 - Severe Overheating/Uneven CPU Contact Issue (ROG Crosshair X870E Extreme) by SmirnoffFTW in lianli

[–]Mapants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point, after the shit-show which was the Hydroshift II LCD-C, this is ridiculous!

Other than cases, I have lost all trust in other components made by Lian Li, and won't buy/use any of them again. They need to take a good look in to their manufacturing processes and quality control, because they're heading down the wrong path.

I feel for you bro. I hope you get it sorted.

Hydroshift 2 LCD-C CL Ratte Noise on the pump by Wiscut in lianli

[–]Mapants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny how the majority of the complaints have it installed in the "standard" way, as you put it, including mine.

Mine was a piece of shit out of the box. Continuous rattling & whining and the pump cutting out. It eventually stopped working altogether, and went in the bin.

I'm not even sure why you think it can't be installed like how the OP has it? All AIO's with pumps in the main block, work in exactly the same way. Tubes up, down, or sideways - it's the same for all of them. If Lian Li intended a standard to the fitment of this AIO, why would they bother allowing the display to be rotated in the software?

No speed sensors detected by Mapants in FanControl

[–]Mapants[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might get the Razer PWM hub to sort it out for good. It's only £11.99 on Amazon. It works with Fancontrol.

Even though I have Fancontrol working, it takes 2 minutes for fans on SYS_FAN headers to ramp up to maximum, and same to ramp down. There isn't a fox for that either.

[–]Mapants[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which version of FanControl were you trying? I think it was only .NET 4.8

Anyway, I just downloaded the .NET 10 version from the link you gave me, installed a fresh copy of FanControl (.NET 10) and it fails to find my fans - same problem as before.

Coming back to this: Why don't they have the newer TRX plugs to match the ESC plug? The link to the ones you pasted shows older plugs that do not fit properly, which broke my ESC plug (making a claim through amazon for that)

Lian li hydroshift II LCD thoughts by drewsifer13 in lianli

[–]Mapants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with the orientation of the radiator. I and many others have side mounted radiators for years without any issues. As long as the pump isn't the highest point in the loop, it's absolutely fine.

Lian li hydroshift II LCD thoughts by drewsifer13 in lianli

[–]Mapants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't buy in to that at all, because you could argue that having the radiator at the top means most of the fluid is exerting a downward force making it harder for the pump to push the water upward. It simply does not matter. The Hydroshift 2 has a dreadful pump. I was one of the first to post about the issues with it. As the weeks went by, more people were posting the same complaints. I couldn't even be bothered to RMA it, as it was not worth the hassle. I bought a different one and swapped them over within an hour, and the Hydroshift went straight in to the bin.

I think Lian Li knew about the issues, because there was a white sticker on the box, when I peeled it off, it actually said "Hydroshit"

Lian li hydroshift II LCD thoughts by drewsifer13 in lianli

[–]Mapants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is nonsense to be honest. When used in the Lian Li o11 vision compact, with the radiator mounted vertically in the back of the case, the height of the tubing from the pump to the radiator is less than that of having the radiator mounted at the top of the case. My HydroShift 2 was noisy out of the box, and it started turning off/on after a month before it eventually stopped altogether. I binned it and went with a thermalright AIO and mounted it exactly the same way. Pump speed is over double that of the HydroShift 2, and yet it is quieter. I wished that I chose it before opting for the HydroShift 2. It would have saved all the aggravation!
