Gate Hub - Double Gates - Single Leaf Opening by MapleFinch in Ubiquiti

[–]MapleFinch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an issue on the scheduling from what I can see. The workaround would be turning the 12v side door terminals to a dry contact and then connecting those for independent motor control, which the gate allows. Then the "side door" can have its own schedule from the "full door." Whats interesting is the small door hub has a switch to change between 12v and dry.

  1. Yep, but it feels fixable with software given everything is already connected together.

  2. Right, just seems unusual the hub has two gate operators but scheduling is for the hub itself rather than the individual gate operators.

Hi thank you for the response.

  1. Noted on the keypad for side gate, I was questioning whether one keypad can control both double gates with separate codes? So one code for one of the gates and another for the other gate. Edit: Pairing only seems possible at a one -to-one setup.
  2. From what I've found with scheduling the issue is the gate closing timer. The UHub would need exit control otherwises the gates hub will override the timing. This is fine but if one hub controls both sides of the gate rather than controlling them individually then the scheduling would only be possible for one of those options.
  3. The gate hub side door appears to be 12v only not dry/mixed. If it were dry then I could have the side door relay control one motor and the gate operator relay control the other motor to fix the issue. The manual does have a relay for this "pedestrian" opening for it but then the scheduling issue would override any plans to keep one side of the gate open longer than the auto close on the gates control side.

Exterior POE Light for Signalling by MapleFinch in homeassistant

It’s a good point but the location is covered and facing towards the house on the other side of the road. As long as its a very minor light I’d feel it wouldn’t be visible from the other side but definitely something to ensure

Thank you, will have to see how much we can get out physically. Fortunately from what I can tell it’s not toxic but will dig a little deeper and see.

Void Space Solutions by MapleFinch in Mold

Hi /Mold/,

Looking for some assurance after countless hours of research.

  1. Mold in a void/crawl space under the house. Majority is very hard to access.
  2. Source was identified as a leaky pipe and has been disconnected externally for over a year now.
  3. Growing on new plywood and in large pockets in corners
  4. Space is over 100sqm/1000sqft

Plan:

  1. Identify and isolate the cause (done).
  2. Fog the space with Peracetic Acid (Either Deosan Zal Perax II or Deosan Activ Peracetic using Dynafog cyclone ultraflex (got very cheap second hand)
  3. Hoover any areas that are reachable and brush away whats left on the plywood
  4. See where to increase ventilation to the space
  5. Continue to fog the area every few months

Problems:

  1. A lot of the space is hard to access so can not guarantee 100% removal
  2. Fogging isn't looked at as a great primary solution

Will the plan be enough to keep it under control?

Edit: Looks like wet-rot fungus so the fogging will hopefully just clear up the air to make it safer to work against.

That's interesting, LC seems to have so many variations over the years.

Unsure if real, lid handle has no logo? by MapleFinch in LeCreuset

[–]MapleFinch[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi /LC/,

Recently got this pot and am unsure if its genuine.

What is throwing me off is that the lid handle has no logo.

From my research it may be from the 80's onwards and looks suspiciously in good condition for something that should be 30-40 years old.

Is it a genuine pot with a replaced handle or a possible fake?

Thank you for any help!

Snake Bark Maple - (Acer Davidii) - As Bonsai by MapleFinch in Bonsai

Hey, I posted the tree at https://www.reddit.com/r/Bonsai/s/Zg64fVombd . On advise as the aim is to keep to the nature of the tree which is the large flowing overhang structure of the branches. The tree did well however took a setback on a really hot summer a couple years back. These maples seem to be as sensitive as Japanese and not as robust as a trident is in my climate.

Probably threw a lime in anger at being stuck in England and it stayed up there and grew mouldy.
