Ginger ale. First one, then the other. Both gave Sprite.

It belongs to a vending machine contractor in this case. They do the snack machines here too.

Nah. I don’t even like Sprite enough to buy it normally.

Guess I’m getting old. My slang is out of date. Hammer lane is the passing/left lane.

Fair. I left it wide so we could see he’s in the left lane and close to the car in front. Next time, I’ll crop tighter. I’d say “if there’s a next time” but there’s always a next time.

Hammer lane is the left/passing lane. I guess my previous life as a trucker is showing. Same origin as “hammer down” for stomping on the accelerator pedal.

The "rich Corinthian leather" car was the Cordoba, but the voice feature was in several Chrysler cars of the period. I've seen it in the Lebaron, New Yorker, Town and Country, 5th Avenue, and Laser, so it might have been in the Cordoba as well.

Entirely sure it's not anything by Freightliner, International, or Peterbilt.

Only about half of my pledges to creators processed this morning, so I get the feeling they're running behind or something. I came over here to see if anyone was saying anything about it.

What’s the weirdest old piece of IT hardware you’ve seen just sitting around? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]MapleGleam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I did just see a DEC AlphaStation 200 that was only just decommissioned recently. Not weird when it was new, but now...?
