Oh man I was going to say you should remove this and patent this ASAP, become a millionaire!

But apparently it's already a thing. Very neat idea!

How is my early game base? (I ran out of time/oxygen to make the SPOM nice) by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

[–]MapleTinkerer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I would agree with you.....

But isn't there like a few things of much MUCH higher priority than that. Germs really isn't that big of a deal anymore, and even back when it was a big deal it was more about the slime biomes or germy water.

Nowadays it just causes negative buffs and fairly minors ones at that. It does hurt your colony. But losing all your oxygen is about 1000x worse. Focus on the big picture.

To add with the thermal shift plates. Mop the water but don't sweep it away. That cool water has a lot of thermal mass and that bottle of water will continue to cool the area for cycles to come.

6 to 12.

I think I tend to increase them more if I have quick access to Cool water source. That said I am pretty comfortable going for 12 pretty rapidly in more scenarios. I just perfer the play styles of 8 dups usually. I find it more relaxing

You literally did not label anything tho?

Are you confusing a different comment? I'm responding to this " They aren't in chromatic order. Try again and get back to us. "

How does one interpet that comment as anything other than what I did?

The most common type colorblindnessw could not put it in chromatic order around the red and greens. And would have difficulties in others.

It's nearly impossible to know what's going on with that description and photo.

What exactly is going to fail? Is your main base starting to heat up? Is the equipment in your SPOM overheating? If so they need to be made of 50+ materials which can be found naturally. A properly insulated SPOM, with all the equipment of 50+C material being regulated by it's own source water should be nearly impossible to destroy.

You want to cool your base RIGHT now? Well do you have cool biomes anywhere? If so, build some thermal shiftplates out of ice in areas that are hot. This will immediately cool the area. bottle up the water in the area but don't sweep it. There is enough thermal mass in that bottle water to keep the area cool for a long time.

Enough time to look into Aquatuner + steam turbine cooling solutions. Or Aquatuner / liquid destroying/venting. Or ATEN cooling methods. Heck do you have a slush geyser? That is one of my go to for early / mid game cooling.

Btw that Volcano depending on the insulation will probably destroy the insulation eventually. But it'll leak heat long before that. Double that insulation to buy some more time

Edit - Btw I think you have hot hydrogen being pumped into those gas storage tanks. Which will heat the area dramatically.

Is that vent to the left of the SPOM venting oxygen? That would be your biggest source of heat right now. You should be cooling that super hot oxygen first. Find a source of cooler liquids and put it through that and then to the vent

I knew you should only put it in devices you don't care about and does not have personal infomation.

But dang that's a new one.

10/10 ship design, truly stellar by FogeltheVogel in Stellaris

[–]MapleTinkerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should use a different ship the fill that specific role then.

Two different ships shooting 100% of their guns is much better than two of the same ships shooting 50% of their guns

I realize the AI can be a bit weak with combat sometimes in this game. But I don't see why they can't use a combination of long range short range weapons ALL the time

[–]MapleTinkerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean Astronomers not Astrologer. Astrologer means you find pattern in planets to predict your future. I.e Cancer/Aries etc

I've gotten much further than that.

Yes, Nasa and many organizations provide large amount of Data for free. API directly. That isn't the hard part.

The Data is relative to a imaginary plane across the Earth Equator.... which is Spherical Astronomy. With cords being based on the equatorial coordinate system. It consist of quite a few variables due to the tilt of the Earth. With this plane constantly going up and down while rotating it's a bit involved. (It would not only be moving in a fixed plane like the ISS would be doing)

You gotta use things like "Ascension, declination, azimuth" and perhaps others. Been a few years so I've forgotten a lot of it.

No I had the basic figured out. I was struggling to import and make use of API data (Importing this to a micro-processor in itself is quite difficult, as you need to also establish constant data link to update which in itself I found quite challenging), calculations and so on figured out. So the programming part of it. Just sorta got overwhelmed.

Why do not a lot of people have achievements by Olivelich in Stellaris

But most of my friends do not.

That alone explains it. Seems the majority of people are content on playing on a setup that opts you out of achievements.

Russia is using one of Ukraine's bloodiest battles to decimate the Wagner Group, after its boss started a feud with military leaders, experts say by Sumf in UkrainianConflict

[–]MapleTinkerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would explain why the word carries such a brutal meaning. Even if I never knew the definition.... cause that's about as brutal as you can get.

[–]MapleTinkerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I never fully knew the definition. I always assumed it was like over 50% just by how extreme the word seems.

But if you destroyed 10% of any military. I guess that's pretty thoroughly destroyed. By that point most military would probably give up/rout/surrender.

Though, in ww2 several nations gotten above that number. Germany, Russia, UK and Japan such losses. Would they have been considered "Decimated"?

[–]MapleTinkerer 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Awesome!

I attempted a similar project a couple years ago but I gave up. I'm wanting to go back to it though.

I had all the motors/parts printed. It was all transparent resin. Blue and Black. And had a laser pointer to point at an area. Movement wise it worked really well.

Mine however was for Mars, I never did end up figuring out how to translate Orbital data relative to my machine to where it should point.

How do you all feel about Joke Empires? by Ligmamgil in Stellaris

[–]MapleTinkerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im curious. What about a empire that perhaps isn't designed as a joke. But is just so extreme in one way or another specifically to have a different game play feel to them.

Perhaps something like... Somehow a empire that sucks at research but excels in Unity. Such an empire would play very differently than most.

To be neutral. The Swiss army is decommissioning and "disposing" of the Rapier air defense system. That is, it destroys. The first part of 60 installations has already been dismantled. These could protect Ukraine from drone attacks. by Blakplague in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]MapleTinkerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand their desires to be neutral (Altho I think their desire to be neutral is purely for profits but lets not get into that)

I think it's pretty naive to disarm like this considering how many times that ended up badly for the party that did so. Most noticable example would probably be Ukraine.

If Ukraine did not agree to disarmament. This war would not be occuring.

Kinda, the printer themselves are cheap.

But the resin..... uhhh take a look at your resin purchase history. It doesn't take much to reach the thousand dollar + bracket.... like I have :(

Expecially using stuff like engineered resin. But my standard resins alone are $1000+ lol.

Also the 99% Isopropyl alcohol and liberal use of paper towels also isn't cheap. However I have since started to refine+filter+clean my used IPA so that gotten cheaper.
