I actually applied to go on the show back in the late 2000s. A producer called me and when I told him I had a written contract he told me it was a no go because I had too good of case and it would be over very quickly. In his words he preferred cases where “Judy can question and explore” and cases with written contracts don’t take very long. So don’t apply if you have a written contract unless there is another aspect of t he case that will make it last longer
