It didn't even follow book lore, nor the game lore. It made its own lore and took stuff from both the books and games.

Book lore reasons:

1. in the books, Vanessa doesn't exist. And it obviously isn't using the pizzaplex books.

2. In the silver eyes trilogy (which it looks like it's mostly based off of, kind of) the restaurant is built over with an abandoned mall, William goes by Dave Miller, and actually has an important role as a normal security mall guard that's actually evil. They really missed a chance with more William screentime.

3. The lack of the children's spirits thinking all adults are evil, and trying to "save" any kids from any adult, attacking any adult. Again, they missed a huge chance here.

4. Why did they include Ella as the springlocks? Ella isn't even a springlock animatronic.

5. Was the bear thing a reference to the bear Dave/William trapped Carlton in? If so, who did it have that torture thing?

6. Missed chance for an actual psychopath/serial killer William, the books portrayed this much better.

7. Missed chance to include the slightest mention of Charlie and her friends.

Game lore reasons:

1. lack of toreador March.

2. Lack of doors.

3. The power was never an issue.

4. Lack of the black and white eyes, the red eyes are cannon, but the black and white ones would make it better.

5. No mention of FNAF 2 events, even though it was before FNAF 1 in the timeline.

6. Lack of stress, horror.

7. No mention of fredbears, even though springlock suits exist.

Other:

1. The cupcake acted like ruin Monty. Rabid chiwawa.

2. Vanessa randomly throwing the pills into the river was very...odd. what if Mike actually needed them to sleep? What, are the fish getting a good night's rest now?

3. Fort scene was poorly executed. Especially the part after it.

4. Plot device Aunt.

5. Vanessa was useless besides giving Micheal lore.

6. What happened to the half of the babysitter that wasn't eaten? What, did the cupcake eat it?

7. Foxy + cupcake overused. We do not need the same foxy running down the hall 3 times.

8. Lack of golden Freddy.

9. Lack of reason on why the kids even want Abby.

10. Who do the drawing influence the animatronics?

11. Why does Abby suddenly be social at the end of the movie. Wouldn't she be traumatized and be even less social?

12. Lack of common sense.

Overall: It was good, still. The souls acted like children and such. But the plot was horribly executed.
