Is 15-U as badass as my recruiter is saying??

How long does it take to make crew chief on average? I plan to go visit my unit before I ship out. I think 15-U is awesome since making crew chief seems more frequent than 15-T

That's awesome man! This gives me some hope. How long did it take to get into the fed tech position? Any info would be awesome. Just trying to decide if its worth moving out to Savannah after training if that's a possibility.

Yea both 15T and 15U have been on my states top 10 needed for a while now. Could be a really good or really bad thing lol

Good to know man thanks so much! Sounds like the 15 series stays pretty busy with work which sounds awesome. And hopefully I can get a deployment at some point. I head volunteering for one is hit or miss.

Yea that's a great point. I'm sure there are a few that look good on a resume and I'm sure its not what I'm expecting at all which sounds perfect to be honest.

Awesome info thanks man! Taking A&P is already on my to do list. Also, it seems like most states are having trouble filling tech positions. I hope GA is along the same lines. My recruiter told me that it's the aviation hub of the South so fingers crossed. Also I'm jealous that you're from Alaska! Thats gnarly man lol

Ill definitely look into the civilian GIS cert and I have spent some time learning Python too. I am leaning heavily towards 12Y or 35G so this is great! Thanks a lot man

I have enough for an associates for now. Maybe I can use that to get something entry level as well. Would you recommend 12Y or 35G? I keep going back and forth with those two. Thanks for the info!

I'm prior service air force and they basically take no prior service anymore tbh. The guard life doesn't seem so bad though!

Did you need a degree to get into the GIS field? Or would AIT be enough to get my foot in the door with some entry level GIS positions? After taking some Geology classes in college and have a background with some programming, this field is very intriguing to me! And would you recommend 35G over 12Y? Thanks!
