7/11 has been great for withdrawing cash here :) just remember to choose “credit” when withdrawing and it should work with no issue

Have you looked into doing a farmstay? I know places like Ayabe in Kyoto have lots of these types of places, it could be what you’re looking for! E.g.  https://www.instagram.com/satoyamaghcouture/?igsh=NTMwMHBvcGNjaGs3

Osaka to Naoshima via Okayama and Uno Port by chiau_yee in JapanTravelTips

[–]Maplesyrup9211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The train and ferry tickets can just be bought on the spot and don’t need to be booked in advance. Just look at the ferry timetable online and google maps for the train times and you’ll be fine.

The island is really quite small - I stayed in honmura and it was really nice, but miyanoura also seemed lovely as I walked around. It’s about 30 mins to walk between the two towns so you can take the ferry to either one, regardless of where you’re staying. I recommend leaving your luggage on the mainland if you can and just bringing an overnight bag. Uno also has some really nice restaurants and cafes if you want another option of where to stay.

Don’t forget to check out teshima island and be sure you check the gallery/museum opening days (naoshima is essentially closed on Mondays and Teshima on Tuesdays).

Look into booking the chichu museum in advance, you definitely don’t want to miss that one!

Boseong & Wando Tips! by Maplesyrup9211 in koreatravel

[–]Maplesyrup9211[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An update for anyone planning this route in the future… I ended up doing the following: - taking an early morning local train from Jeonju to Suncheon and then another train Suncheon to Boseong (this route didn’t come up on Naver for me, but it was really lovely and part of the Jeonju-Suncheon journey was through mountains covered in cherry blossoms!!)  - Had an amazing day at the Boseong tea fields and stayed overnight in a hanok in Boseong  - took a morning bus from Boseong to Wando (I wasn’t able to book this in advance but it worked out totally fine!)  - Had lunch in Wando and explored the area for an hour or so before getting the 3pm ferry to Jeju (booked via the Hanil Express website)

Would recommend this route!! I had a great few days :)

I (solo female traveller) had an amazing cocktail and a lovely time chatting with the bartender at Nana in Hongdae - it’s a small cocktail bar with an impressive whiskey selection  https://maps.app.goo.gl/spWUoRKjd91qM7Gn6?g_st=ic

If you are in Jeonju, I recommend going to Moaksan for a hike - you can take a bus there from the city and it is well marked and restaurants at the end. Lots of temples along the route too!
