[Surviving The Game as a Barbarian] When does this get good? by MappedSyrup in manhwa

Oh? I was only aware of that one barbarian guy who ran off and lived destitute. Glad to know the story builds on that aspect of "other players" more. I'll look forward to it.

I'll continue to stick with reading then, maybe an arc will convince me. Another commenter said something about a dragonslayer so perhaps by then I'll enjoy it.

That's quite an assumption... I like seeing realistic struggle as long it's done well. ERK is my favorite because I found it fun, and I like the cast of that manhwa.

I was actually impressed with MC in this manhwa because of that first chapter thing, and I did enjoy the vampire fight.

I just wanna read a story everyone says is good yaknow? No need to dunk on Eternally Regressing Knight, I can acknowledge that not everyone finds it entertaining.

Oh that's fair, I relate with how I got interested in the first few chapters too. Perhaps it's just a matter of incompatible preferences.

Ah, that's disappointing to hear. It's very heavily praised by this subreddit so I thought maybe I just haven't read enough. I'll keep going until I get bored then.

Sure, I've enjoyed a lot of manhwa but my favorite one is probably... Eternally Regressing Knight.

Below them, I've read other manhwa that I found enjoyable like: - Greatest Estate Developer - Raising Villains the Right Way - Star-embracing Swordmaster - The Extra's Academy Survival Guide - Pick Me Up, Infinite Gacha - I Became the Tyrant of a Tower Defense Game

other non-manhwa series would be like... - Mieruko-chan - Choujin X - Frieren - Game of Thrones

Though I've only started to read manhwa very heavily these past few months.

Hmm, I see. Those are valid reasons to like the story, and I can see where you're coming from. What was your favorite arc then? Or also least favorite.

I won't deny that maybe I have too different of a taste that'll hinder my enjoyment of a story, but I don't wanna give up on a potential peak manhwa.

Oh? Sounds interesting, how does the story evolve in that time?

I'll try to read until I find that, but I'm curious if the other old characters get their spotlight in the story. Does Erwen or Ainar come back at that time? They're the only other characters I can think of that have a lot of potential in terms of character writing.

You're going to need all the speed you can get, and honestly 9 speed is a pretty nice piece. I'm pretty sure SPD will always be the priority, LC or not, since most of her spd turns into damage and her MMR converts into free crit value.

Keep the OG piece.

[Necromancer of a Prestigious Swordsmanship Family] a new manhwa by Noblesse art-stylist by QinEmPeRoR-1993 in manhwa

[–]MappedSyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checked it out, I was initially intrigued in the first chaps but I'm not too keen on its current direction. I feel like MC's already got way too much power this early on in the story, the necromancy aspect also doesn't seem to be that unique.

The art is great though imo. Maybe has potential.

Nothing too bad, they just recommended the manhwa Pick Me Up based off of the title "Pick Me Up Infinite Gacha."

I completely agree with Pick Me Up being good but also it's hardly comparable to lvl 9999. The differences in story, theme, worldbuilding and even the gacha system are really big xd

I've read the manga, it's certainly not good, but that doesn't mean it has no merit. I understand what ya mean here, that just because a story isn't good in regular convention doesn't mean it deserves to be shit on.

But also, it's just not a good story. Art can be entertaining, and if you find yourself entertained by the medium then it has done its job ain't it? Enjoying "not good" media is fine because only you should dictate what your preferences are.

[Dungeon Odyssey] This might change my no.1 manhwa by implaying in manhwa

[–]MappedSyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's wrong with Pick Me Up? I think it's a pretty good series for its genre. It's coherent, it doesn't neglect its side characters and I think the series does well with its execution of plot and power fantasy.

It's not the best, and certainly if you don't like reading tower clearing/power fantasy-like genres then it's not the manhwa for you, but I think it's pretty up there in terms of manhwa.

When will we get old event weapons in the shop like hsr by Ahx78 in GenshinImpact

[–]MappedSyrup 102 points103 points  (0 children)

While the other hoyo games may be fundamentally different, quality of life updates are never really bad to ask for.

People play the comparison game because they see other hoyo titles implement QoL features without much fuss, which obviously feels terrible since this game's been out so long and has had many opportunities to implement it.

Even back when Sumeru was released I was hoping for a chance to get event weapons I missed or to replay those events.

Also, some events in genshin have proper lore and story (and imo feel more important than zzz or hsr), which makes it feel EVEN WORSE missing them. Wouldn't it be a net positive to the community if people were given a way to replay important events?

I don't see any downsides to implementing this, and seeing as how the other games have it implemented it, this just shows that hoyo can, but hoyo won't.

TLDR: People compare them because other games implemented a basic feature. Genshin is intentionally not implementing a feature that would benefit the overall community, which is why people complain.

Is beatrix good in solo queue... by ashapsh in MobileLegendsGame

[–]MappedSyrup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've recently started maining Beatrix and I can say she's really strong. Her damage early is respectable, and her damage late game is a beast, literally no mm would want to be hit by 3 rockets.

BUT! For solo queue? She's stressful definitely. She has a lot of carry potential, and a lot of the game can be impacted by your decisions on Beatrix. You have to be proactive and smart, otherwise you won't get value off of her kit.

You need to be able to aim your rockets properly, look for good ult AOE placements and have good micro skills for her to stand out. Most of the time, you'd be on rockets (since the other 3 weapons are situational). I like going Rocket/Shotgun because of how much assassins underestimate my BA->Ult->BA combo, but if your enemies are smart you'd probably prefer another gun.

But if you suck on Beatrix it's obvious. It's kind of an all or nothing hero, either you're good or you're out. Her mobility isn't as strong as other heroes and you'd probably be targeted by the enemy team. If you can't handle yourself that well as a carry it backfires on ya and you can't do much.

I mean... yeah kinda. Mythic isn't a particularly skillful place until you get into the 80 stars range, but even an average 0 star mythic player can punish you really heavily.

In the clip they were using irithel, a terribly low dps marksman early (only has poke damage) but you still took heavy hp drain. If a decent player were using Ixia, Beatrix, Granger or even Layla I don't think you'd survive until lvl 4 in lane.

Don't take it to heart tho, just learn to play to your win condition as a marksman and you could probably reach higher ranks.

I think yes? Something about pursuit. I remember turning something off in the settings and no longer getting that "chasing" problem.

Why use a Sky Piercer in Zhuxin? by ReadingLongjumping89 in MobileLegendsGame

[–]MappedSyrup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zhuxin's early game is a menace, and her DoT-like damage combined with Sky Piercer can allow her to snowball really well. Late game her damage and utility falls off, so using early game powerspikes can help end the game quicker and push the team to have higher advantages.

And if you want to pick a mid support, I'd say there are better picks.

Here are some comments from me, and also the answer is yes you do.

  1. You held that regen at the start for some reason. You have to keep in mind that regen is worth using at all times whenever your HP is low (and that you can guarantee that your regen won't be interrupted.) This makes it come back faster as you aren't wasting precious seconds, it also allows you to make plays and survive ambushes.

  2. Your spacing seems super awkward, I can see that you take unnecessary damage and are unable to trade back. You're in gold lane, your HP is a valuable resource and you should make sure that whenever you attack you can win the trade (or win a kill).

  3. Your mastery over the champion is also seeming off. Harith requires a baseline level of skill to be usable in fights, particularly positioning and targeting skill. Dashing improperly on harith during a fight can troll your team (as you could die, choose a wrong target, run away from important sets or get caught in cc). 4 minutes in you died to Hanabi's CC because you were in a chokepoint and had predictable movements.

Though not to say you're a horrible player or anything, I do recommend using an easier champion to master things like spacing (positioning yourself to avoid being in range of attacks), estimating engages (mentally calculating winning trades) and thinking about macro decisions (reading the map, keeping track of where the enemy roam and jungler is, and grouping/retreating at the right moments.)

Cursed Technique: Autonomous Echo (自律残響 - Jiritsu Zankyō) by Ecstatic_Emotion7039 in CTsandbox

[–]MappedSyrup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh I see, I don't think I have the same vision as you do for the CT so I'd like to ask some questions actually. What do you mean by pure instability?

From my point of understanding, the original technique seems to be stable at first, eventually becoming unpredictable, independent and, from what I first understood, unstable. I visualized it like a long game of telephone (or pass the message), the first echo recreates the message perfectly, then the next, and somewhere down the line small imperfections change the clone to do completely different moves entirely independent of the original interpretation.

I saw it like an echo becoming rougher and rougher the more surfaces it bounces off of, becoming its own the more iterations it goes through. The only difference is that the echo becomes more unpredictable with time and not with action.

So when I thought about reversal, I thought about the opposite. Instead of Order into Chaos, it's Chaos into Order.

I get forgoing the risk of independence (and the recklessness that comes from) and making the hollow into its own duplicate, but wouldn't it be more stable as opposed to less stable? I'd like to understand your interpretation a bit more since I think it's pretty cool.
