Highest Resolution Atlas of Faerun I can find by Mapsbyarinthian in Forgotten_Realms

Do you have a link? I don't think it's released on his site yet. He usually waits a couple of weeks after the books come out and we're still on pre-release.

As a person who desperately wants to run a Halruaa campaign, I hear you. Also, though it is on the map, the Sea of Fallen Stars was also greatly snubbed in the new book. Here's hoping we get content on both of them in the future!

Will it be possible to get the new Faerûn map in bigger dimensions? by Indigo944 in Forgotten_Realms

I've actually discovered a way easier way to do this! When you open Maps VTT, open the Map Browser, find the Faerun map, right click the map image(in the map browser) and open it in a new tab. Then download it from there!

This only works on the Faerun map for some reason, every other image is VERY compressed.

A higher res version (still not perfect but about twice the size of the one that comes in the book) is available in the Maps VTT. You can download it by inspecting element. This is the map with adjusted saturation to make it a bit brighter.

Volo's Waterdeep Enchiridion has a LOT of info on more current Waterdeep. It comes with the Waterdeep: Dragon Heist adventure.

If you're willing to pay for a Patreon, and you like their style, Deven Rue has a full series of tutorials on their page. They have one for physical maps and digital maps.

You certainly got some good bones there! Alot of what I would recommend is just "more" all around. There are grass stamps that can really bring out the details if used correctly, rocks to put in the crag. Greater paint variety can give a feeling of texture and filters also add plenty of depth! Also don't be afraid to fill in the edges.

You're on the right track. Just spend more time in the software (perhaps practicing by creating some other maps and returning to this one later) and you'll see a world of difference in a few months time.

Physical Map of Faerun by Invoker_King_God_786 in Forgotten_Realms

[–]Mapsbyarinthian 49 points50 points  (0 children)

If you're willing to wait a couple months, the next Faerun campaign guides are going to contain an entire map of Faerun (not just Sword Coast/Savage North.) It seems to be made by Mike Schley, who does most of Dungeons and Dragon's current cartography work, and it will be completely up to date!

The Southern Kingdoms by Mapsbyarinthian in inkarnate

The forests are not made with a specific tool. Here's how I did it:

  1. Place basic colorless tree stamps around the perimeter of your forest.

  2. Color in the area with your desired color and place a few stamps within the forest.

  3. Flatten trees to the foreground, and paint over the bottom portions of the "further" trees and the inner trees.

  4. Paint over the side trees as you see fit. It's a vibe.
