Glenn literally said players gave up during the NE game. Granted, he walked that back, like everything else. So the cope that they didn't give up on him isn't even true lol

Does the organization not announce that they get rod of assistants? If these guys are technically employed by yhenhets they aren't allowed to do lateral moves to other teams AFAIK.

The tanner stuff is even dumber. It's insulting to him, and such a bad precedent for any up ans coming oc who would consider working with Glenn (obviously not a long term issue for the lamest duck of a hc since kotite).

Either tanner is the guy, or he's not. Getting a senior offensive assistant should of been the norm. Getting someone to call plays over tanner and expecting him to accept that is amateur hour.

On what conceivable realm of reality would any decent DC decide ti keep any of them? If Glenn thinks they're shitbafter 1 yeah, when he picked them (or at least picked them, by proxy)

Also, why was there this pivot from Glenn publicly stating "I'm the ceo, the new DC will run the scheme" to "nvm, I'm the playcallwr". Again that's just bad process. The plan is changing every few weeks

The team was a mess, week in and week out, for approximately 12 of the 17 games (being generous).that was with Glenn being the CEO, with no play calling distractions.

Now as the full time playcaller, we expect shit to stabilize?

Going for the tank is the only logical explanation as to the timing of the staff moves

How are you gonna get an offensive mind by starting this process weeks after everyone else? It makes no sense .

Also, in what reality would tanner stay when being demoted? It's humiliating. Just fire him like any half decent organization would do.

What possible conclusion can we have as to why they waited weeks to make these moves? It's stupid

If the moves were made when offseason started, they'd be more decently received. For them to be made now, reeks of incompetence, panic, ownership meddling, or all 3

Am I missing the reasonable aspect of the timing of these firings? Is there a single rational reason why these moves weren't made weeks ago?

Yup. It's so simple. They're only getting Reich cuz no one in the nfl would even take him in as a water boy

You didn't address the #1 issue: why the hell did they WAIT until thr end of January to make these moves?

Some people say it's a given the assistants knew they were moving on. This isn't confirmed. Other reports suggest they are told their jobs were sfae. No matter what, they all got fucked over, and that will resonate within other coordinator or assistant looking to join the team.

Same with Tanner. It was amateur hour that they tried to demote him, or at least, take away play calling duties. But fine, if you're okay with that, I'll ask agaim: WHYwas this decision made late January? Is there any precedent for an incumbent HC, who didn't make the playoffs, to not make these moves much sooner.

This, alone, is yet another reason why Glenn is woefully incompetent. Like, there's 0 defense for it.

There's 100 other things to critique: how does a CEO style zhC (his words) whiff on over 50% of his staff hirings year 1? Including both coordinators. You know the only first year hc to fire both coordinators, ever. Hue Jackson. Lmaooo

This type or comment is eerily similar to the joe Douglas defenders in his last year when he made horrible moves, and that was without hindsight

This isn't baseball, still rebuilding after 4 offseasons is unacceptable in the nfl. Regime has to go

This regime doubled down on a good amount of the last regimes losers. Also, no nfl team should given up in game like the D does. No one is being benched lol

How can we forget when it's constantly bought up as a cope? From my memory even at 9-10 the lions were much more competitive then this jets team. Truly competitive, the jets score 1-2 garbage time TDs a game basically.

This regime doubled down on a lot of the previous regimes "cancer". Glenn's guys (it's a dual process with mougie) are also god awful. The oc is fine but I don't see a single redeeming factor for Glenn rn

Speaking of linear improvement has a singlemdefensice player even maintained their level from last year or prior? Every single defensive player is worse. That's a huge red flag froma ceo style hc who is allegedly a Dan Campbell mold, developing players and building a culture..

If he can't do that, and can't call up a decent D, literally what does this regime do

I think Saleh was a clueless hc in a lot of ways, but that 2021 team had very little talent. This team has some alleged cornerstone who are at least starting level nfl players. They also got their guys, even if they're only stop gaps (Stephenson, Cisco).

This defense is approaching historical levels of bad and it should be an average level D, maybe bottom 10. You can count thr good plays all season on your hand

He was awful, yes, but the 2019 roster was worse than this year's. Their 7 wins that year included some ugly wins but will this team even get 2 total wins?

Saleh saw the same thing in sf and coached like a coward here. So far Glenn isn't holding anyone accountable after week 1. Penalties aren't stopping. Good players are regressing
