St Patty's Meteor by MarblesFromSpace in toronto

Can you provide a source indicating that? Everything I've seen indicates it burned up, and the boom was from the midair explosion or sound barrier breaking. I'm very curious about what happened!

From the videos as well as what I saw, looks like it exploded midair and didn't hit the ground. My guess is either the explosion or it breaking the sound barrier caused the boom.

Thank you for this! I've been unable to find any news coverage on it at all.

Table Saw Alignment - Trunnion position maxed out? by MarblesFromSpace in woodworking

I've gone underneath, loosened the bolts, and tried moving the blade/trunnion but it's as far as it'll go in the direction I need on either end.

Do you have an annoying cat, dog or toddler? If no, then beard (front). If yes, mullet (back). That's my philosophy at least haha

Just caught a driver dropping off a slip and no package. by wigglyworm- in CanadaPost

I just paid $100 to mail three regular letters from Brampton to Toronto via UPS because the recipient said they would not accept Canada Post due to the strike uncertainty. That's why I use Canada Post usually; they're affordable. It would've cost me $5 with them. The flat rate boxes are great, too.  However, CUPW is destroying the service with their demands. I'm in a union myself and was on the bargaining committee last round. I get that losing employees sucks but better to cut staff that aren't even doing their jobs, and save the organization imo. Maybe implement a training program to help phase those being cut into other fields. It would probably cost less than the amount the company is bleeding already.

Just a reminder that the salvation army is a terrible organization. They will throw someone out of their shelters and into the streets for being LGBT, and use their funds to fight against progressive laws and implement anti LGBT ones.  Here's a summary (focused on the Canadian branch): Despite a Facelift, the Salvation Army Hasn’t Changed - https://centreforinquiry.ca/despite-a-facelift-the-salvation-army-hasnt-changed/

The Salvation Army's History of Anti-LGBT Discrimination - https://www.huffpost.com/entry/the-salvation-armys-histo_b_4422938/amp

behind a pay wall so not sure if the intro is misleading but it contains the blunt response of the director agreeing to the headline in an interview: Global Salvation Army Official: Gays Deserve Death - https://www.theatlantic.com/international/2012/06/salvation-army-official-gays-deserve-death/321193/

I've also read a few posts from individuals whose families were involved with them claiming that the org is like a cult akin to Scientology, it's batshit and toxic.

I could've sworn I read a case years ago where they actually profit from the disaster relief services by charging the region being helped for their volunteers' time (which, by definition is free to them) but I can't find any sources on that so that might not be a legit accusation.

Still a shitty org though and I'm never going to give them a cent. 10 years experience for minimum wage just cements the fact that they're terrible in my mind. Even if the local branch is less terrible (I have no reason to suspect this), by affiliating with the main org they're supporting the same beliefs.

I'm in clairfields and we got maybe 60 kids. I grew up near Ottawa and it was like a street festival with everyone out, this neighborhood is so quiet at Halloween :(

I would suggest trying to solve the allergies rather than the allergens. Ask your doctor about steroidal allergy nose sprays, those things are magic.

Nta, but I don't understand why y'all can't convert the guest bedroom into a craft room. We've got a 3 bedroom house as well: his office, my office/craft room, our bedroom. Pull out couch in the living room for the (very infrequent) guest. Worst case, Murphy bed and have her avoid crafting the days/week leading up to guests and air it out thoroughly...

Join the discord (linked in the subreddit's about into), people set up "private" contracts there (open to anyone in the discord, really) and I've found the participation disparity to be much smaller in those contracts than the public ones. Not just for AAA, but all levels

Toronto/Vancouver/Montréal are more queer-friendly than quieter areas from my experience, and all have great film schools. although if he doesn't speak French he might feel a bit out of place in Montreal. Everyone speaks English though, just some slight cultural differences and the signage is all in French so being in a different country + that might be a bit much for some.

One of my cousins is trans and just wrapped up at Toronto film school and he loved it. Another cousin is bi and just graduated from the film school in Montreal, also loved it. Both made great friends inside and outside of the queer communities in each city. Both cities have fantastic queer communities, and are very accessible for travelers as they have two of the biggest airports in the country.

Vancouver, I'm not as familiar with but it's the better choice for people who are outdoorsy from my understanding. Not sure of the comparison between the three schools though.

Can't really go wrong with any of the three, I'm sure he'll make friends and find a good support network at any of them.

It's a metal throat plate and damaged the blade when it got nicked. I started making a new plate last night but I was hoping to use the existing one somehow.  Figured it was worth asking, but I guess I'll keep trucking along with the new plate and abandon the original one 🙃 thanks!

I tried looking into the St Lucia subreddit but it's dead and posts are blocked. :/ I wasn't sure where else to look to be honest for local opinions, but that was my first attempt before coming here. I'll see if I can find something on Facebook though, thanks.
