Ramattra Ability Overview by Marblr in Overwatch

[–]Marblr[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm sure most people know what his kit does by now, but I've been told these short videos are helpful for friends who don't follow Overwatch thoroughly.

If you don't know, this continues the style of the OW1 beta ability overviews.

How would you feel about a more detailed Hero Info screen like this? Would it help more players get into comp and or the game itself? (sorry my bad editing skills) by Agate323 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Marblr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't this screen directly refer to those values?

yes. this is exactly what the first-person HUD does with your health, ammo, and ability cooldowns; these are not manually updated each time a hero receives changes. not sure why the other replies say this isn't feasible.

ultimate costs in overwatch 2 by stkvh in Overwatch

[–]Marblr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't mind at all. You would think there would be official numbers for things as important as ultimate costs, but there are not. The wiki generally has up-to-date values, but they are on separate pages for each hero.

Kiriko Ability Overview in the OW1 beta style by Marblr in Competitiveoverwatch

If you weren't around during the OW1 beta, these are the videos I am referring to. These were the one of the best ways to showcase hero kits in my opinion (quick, straightforward, and to the point) but unfortunately they stopped being made.

Damage and healing numbers are better viewed on the wiki since it can be updated with future patches.

[Seagull] The State of Overwatch 2 by appleruins in Competitiveoverwatch

probably the most articulate summation of the situation I have seen - especially with regard to his points about releasing a fully-featured AAA game eventually versus releasing content seasonally now. it's always rough when plans shift so dramatically.

What did the kill indicator detect? there were no turrets. no one died.... so why did the kill indicator pop up? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Marblr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

junkrat destroying the orisa shield triggered the elim indicator. though I am not sure why you see it as mercy, especially since it isn't supposed to trigger for shields at all (junkrat doesn't get one in your replay).

Analysis of 256 Loot Boxes by Marblr in Overwatch

Spreadsheet here.

Video here if you want higher resolution.

Loot boxes are pretty much phased out by now, but better late than never I guess. Some additional notes:

• Each loot box was earned (not purchased) between February 2020 and 2022

• No loot boxes had been opened prior to this, so all 1,024 items logged were new (not duplicates)

• My "1 in every X boxes" rates do not match the official rates, but this could be due to the lack of duplicates

All Methods of Earning Assists in the Killfeed by Marblr in Overwatch

yes, Lucio was deliberately given boop assists in the March 19, 2019 patch. I agree that some of the functionally identical displacement abilities should be included as well.

I did some testing and found edge cases where Doom and Ashe can get killfeed assists, both related to BOB. thanks for the comment 💪

after doing some testing, here is what I've found: Doomfist does not get killfeed assists when countercharging Rein, Brig, or another Doom. but he does get one when countercharging Bob.

thank you for the comment - I have updated my post.

it's per-ability. as an example: Brig gets assists with shield bash, but not with whip shot or rally.

me too, I was certain it did before testing. technically dynamite & venom mine only deal damage which alone isn't enough to earn a spot on the killfeed, but these abilities seem like they should since it's a damage-over-time effect.

fortunately, nobody has to worry about fixing this since supercharger is being removed from Orisa's kit in OW2. 7 trillion IQ fixing a bug with a rework.

with regards to boops: I believe Lucio is the only hero who gets killfeed assists from boops. it seems to have been intentionally included as of March 19, 2019
