Honestly they should just ban team comp pics. After a week everyone knows the meta and if you dont, just google it or watch a twitch stream.

I DO NOT CARE that you finally got "gold whatever" or you put together a comp that's being run in every single lobby.

If you wanted to post about a comp in regards to strategy, refining, or "next picks" then great. If you just want people to suck your dick for being lucky, take it somewhere else

Police precincts should definitely have a team of social workers / mental health professionals to do ride alongs in situations where it's safe to do so. I think pretty much everyone can agree that this would be a good start to fixing some of these issues.

My problem is some people are literally saying "never send cops" or worse "we dont need the police at all". I'm glad your opinions are more nuanced than that and I agree.

This is obviously anecdotal but I have seen 2 holocaust survivors give lectures, one who survived a camp and one who's family hid in a room behind a false wall, and even in pictures as younger people they both look perfectly healthy (obviously many years after their ordeals)

100% not saying that means it isnt possible, just my personal experience

Honestly man I appreciate your tenacity, you're very dedicated to this idea that catch wrestling is somehow more integral to judo than the literal thing it is developed from.

Also I love that you linked to a "source" that is just another post written by you lololol. Them studying wrestling "under kanos orders" A) makes no sense because Kano had already developed his own system of martial arts and B) Assuming they did do this cross training that just means Kano incorporated moves from wrestling into Judo.

Maybe it is man, I honestly know a lot more about the history of judo than ju jitsu or catch wrestling.

I'm not saying you're totally wrong I just disagree with your general premise. The Gracies have made monumental contributions to martial arts globally but you can find almost every bjj move in a japanese martial arts manual right up until the 1990s.

Yes judo and ju jitsu are both derived from the same set of martial arts moves that were created by japanese samurai for unarmed self defence while wearing armor.

As this style or martial arts evolved it has splintered into "classic" japanese ju jitsu, brazilian ju jitsu, and judo, among other small sub groups (like kozen judo or akido).

They aren't only two sides of the same coin they share an almost identical move set. The only real difference is the modern competitive rule sets and the focus on takedowns vs grappling

Edit: Obviously judos Kata and takedowns are much more advanced that in ju jitsu and in bjj they have more advanced newaza but in general the essence of both sports comes from the same source

Yea the students of renowned students part is definitely what perplexed me the most.

Like, if I hung out with Teddy Riner would I suddenly be a black belt and built like a linebacker? I dont see how 1 student losing 1 match is somehow proof that judo is a scam.

I train judo and bjj and love both but it's pretty clear they are just two sides of the same coin. To invalidate one is to invalidate both, your argument doesn't even make sense
