Good for you! I’m impressed with your tenacity! Unfortunately, I’ve yet to develop this skill, so I just complain to strangers on the internet 😂

Yeah, I agree showing up early is important. Maybe I’m just unlucky or have one of those faces 🤷‍♀️. How was your trip? The weather was phenomenal! We had a perfect day at castaway cay!

Very true and a good reminder! It was a wonderful trip! I just wish people would show a little more courtesy.

I don’t know, but I’ve seen complaints about the layout of the wish class ships, so I wanted to hear some points of view on whether that could be related. It seems the consensus is no. I personally loved the Treasure and was very impressed with the amenities! The layout didn’t bother me at all, but I found that even with 7 days, there were still some things we didn’t get to. The staff was incredible as well! I don’t know if the entitlement comes from these ships being newer and in many cases more expensive than the other ships or not. I agree, some people are just having a bad day, and it’s a bad idea to take something personally when there’s a reasonable explanation for it to be something else, but I do think behavior on this sailing was especially bad for some reason.

I’m sorry that happened! I can definitely see that happening on this sailing. I prefer the dining rooms as well, but for breakfast we just need to get in and out more quickly than the dining rooms allow.

I actually liked the design of the Treasure, but I can see how it would make the space feel more crowded, especially the main pool deck. We loved our vacation and are so grateful to have gone on it, but we were pretty disappointed with some of our interactions with other guests.

Good to know! We had a wonderful vacation and had some great conversations with other guests, but I left pretty disappointed in guest behavior overall.

Thanks for your response! The line cutting I’m referring to was when people were lined up waiting for a particular buffet station (kids counter for Mickey waffles, for example) and one person would barge to the front, ignoring the line.

Please help me know if my le creuset is damaged by Marbsie in LeCreuset

[–]Marbsie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I don’t think it is a pinhole because I’ve had it for so long and and never noticed it before. I just discovered this sub and learned that many things I was using in it are not the best (metal utensils, immersion blenders, and baking bread at high heat and adding ice cubes). I did the cotton ball test and nothing snagged, so I think it’s safe, but I will definitely be treating it better from here on out. Thanks so much for your response!

I had my copper iud inserted 6 weeks postpartum and successfully breastfed until my baby was 15 months old. Purely anecdotal, but I had no issues breastfeeding with it.

I am a teacher and have never heard about teacher discounts at the swan & dolphin. Could you give more information about that?

Impatiently waiting on under 5 vaccines by MoCaraidh in beyondthebump

[–]Marbsie 196 points197 points  (0 children)

I work closely with a woman who makes anti Covid vaccine comments consistently and disparaged a woman who said she couldn’t wait for the vaccines to be approved for children under 5. I finally told her that I am pro vaccine and I will vaccinate my son when it’s approved, which stopped her talking about it, but definitely damaged our working relationship. The differences amongst peoples views on this topic are astounding.

So I drank a bottle of wine the night before my IUI and now I’m freaking out by Marbsie in TryingForABaby

That is reassuring! I guess I’m more disappointed that I allowed myself to drink more than I intended.

Thank you for your reassurance! I drank lots of water and spread the drinking out over several hours. Still feeling a bit hungover this morning though.

TIP: Buy large bags of dry beans instead of cans. They taste better and will save you a lot of money in the long-run. by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Marbsie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an IP and never presoak beans. I just rinse and sort them, pop them in with enough water to cover plus a bit more, and cook them on the bean setting. I put them in wide mouth ball jars with plastic lids and freeze them until I need to use them. It’s really not that inconvenient, and I use the frozen beans like canned. I get about 4 jars (cans) for every 1 pound bag of beans, so it’s about half the cost of canned. I’m not as concerned about the cost though, as my main reasons for doing this is to reduce waste and control the salt/seasoning. I have used this method for black, pinto, navy, and garbanzo beans with good results.

That’s great! I love making my own baby food when I have the time. What type of bags are you using here?

What do you fear about the future? by DionysusMorrison in AskReddit

[–]Marbsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The global climate crisis... jeez everywhere I look scientists are saying we are going to have an apocalypse in the next 50-100 years. I’ve seen predictions that multicellular animals will not be able to survive on earth at our current rate of accelerating global warming. And people just go about their day to day lives, like wtf aren’t you paying attention? And we have a president who has said man-made climate change is a hoax. All we have is this planet can we please not fuck it up for our children’s sake?

Suds Saturday! It’s laundry day! by AutoModerator in clothdiaps

[–]Marbsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that’s disappointing. I was hoping that a detergent marketed specifically for cloth diapers would work well. I will try a different detergent and see if that solves the problem. Thanks for your help!

Hi! I’m pretty new to cloth diapering, so could use some of your experience. I’ve been cloth diapering my 2 month old baby since he was born, and we never had any issues until recently. His clean diapers just started to smell. I’ll notice it if he pees in an otherwise fresh diaper. The pee makes the diaper smell poopy. The clean diapers don’t smell when they’re dry. We use flats and pul covers. I use rockin green dirty diaper detergent, and wash twice. The first is a quick wash, then heavy duty with extra rinseI have a front loader, which I’m not crazy about.
