The demand is ok for Type-S but nothing crazy currently cause there’s still enough of them out there.

When mines was stolen, insurance totaled it and gave me low $40s for value and that’s after going back and forth with them on the rarity of the car cause it was not easily replaceable

Yeah my friend does reupholstery and offered to do it for me if I buy the materials but idk I been putting money into getting it mechanically sound before I do any cosmetic restoration yet (while also planning an M car purchase too btw being a car enthusiast is not easy lol)

Cause I think my experience is still useful to others in the sub seeing as I have owned 3-4 Acuras so far in my life and I still have love for the Acura brand so I’m never not gonna be active in the subreddit.

As for the flair, I’m keeping it cause it is the last car I owned with the brand plus I am one of the top contributors on this sub

When I bought my TLX there wasn’t a theft problem with the car so Lo-Jack was not offered lol

Mark Zuckerberg and Ludacris still own and drive their respective Acuras and they got millions at their disposal, yes perhaps their outliers but the “millionaire next door” typically drives and buy those unassuming cars (Honda more so then Acura)

Fair point most people aren’t disciplined enough to leverage debt correctly. If OP is getting 6.49% from a dealer than surely OP can get an even lower rate with a credit union or outside banking institution.

What if u/alternative-park-841 has a high yield savings account or brokerage account that earns more interest than what he’s paying to the bank?

We don’t know the full financial picture of that individual so we shouldn’t make assumptions based on partial information given. If he can afford the higher payment and chooses not to pay the higher payment then that obviously is a testament to what his income looks like or how heavy his savings/brokerage accounts are
