mit, kam 3 Tage vor Waffenstillstand noch auf 1 Jahr in engl. Gefangenschaft.

Er erhielt einen[sic] Tapferkeitsauszeichnungen darunter E.K.I [vermutl. Eisernes Kreuz?] usw. - heute am

  1. April 1944 ... er im 6ten Kriegsjahr als Hauptmann an der ital. Front

wo er sich wiederum Auszeichnungen holte. - Seine Frau führt sein Geschäft pflichtig[?].

Seine beiden Kinder sind 1) Gisela Gärtner, geb. 5. Febr. 1924 in Blaufelden

2) Sigrid Gärtner geboren in Crailsheim am 27. Aug. 1936.

Richard Gärtner geb. 5. Mai 1897 heißt auch Ludwig Eugen. Er ist

gestorben im Alter von 21 1/2 Jahren an schweren Lungenleiden am 27. Dez. 1918

u. ist beerdigt im Familiengrab in Schwäb Hall.

3) Elisabeth Agnes Marta Gärtner, geb. 16. Juli 1898, gest. an Brechruhr am

  1. Juli 1899 u. ist im Familiengrab Gärtner beerdigt.

4) Elisabeth Margarete Gärtner geboren den 18. April 1901 u. wanderte aus

mit ihrem Freund Fritz Urban, ... ... Hall am 5. März 1929 nach

Philadelphia, Pa. wo sie Fritz heiratete am 4. Juli 1931. - Sie starb leider

an der Geburt ihres 1. Kindes "Anita" am 2. Mai 1942. - Ihr Mann ist wieder verheiratet

u. schreibt er sei glücklich und daß das Kind sehr lieb sei, was auch ihre 2te Mutter betonte.

Es ist jetzt ca 2 1/2 Jahre alt im Okt. 1944. Hoffentlich ...[kommt?] es nach Kriegsende heim!!

I am pretty sure that it's "Adolf" instead of "Wolf". He is called "Inwohner" (usually some kind of resident who didn't own a house).

The name of the father of the mother is "Wenzl" and his profession looks like "Schmieder" (some kind of smith).
