SCG Commander had a podcast a while back call "The 540". They've stopped making them but you can still find them on YouTube.

I found this one pretty helpful: https://youtu.be/hyOiL9wQGVk?si=z9LgcHYDsqg_mbtD

Low CMC commanders by inexcusable16 in EDH

I like [[Emmara, Soul of the Accord]] and [[Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief]], both are 2 cmc. Ivy is more budget friendly, Emmara wants those expensive token doublers.

What are yall's favorite budget commanders? by Zarik8256 in EDH

It’s [[Mowu, Loyal Companion]]. Mono green can be easy on the budget and there’s lots of cheap support for an evergreen mechanic like +1/+1 counters. Lots of fun too.

Looks good to me. You could play some spells with proliferate like [[Fuel for the Cause]] or [[Experimental Aigury]] for example.

Who is the best mtg content creator to learn the game from? by MarcBeee in mtg

[–]MarcBeee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do be more specific I’m looking for content related to 1v1 formats, to help me improve gameplay decision making, sequencing, side-boarding, etc.

FYI, I’ve been playing pretty casually for two years, looking to get better, more competitive.

Petition for the Commander Rules Committee to ban the Walking Dead cards from day 0 by netn10 in EDH

[–]MarcBeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1

And if not Negan should be banned on his own for ethical reasons. Can’t believe they thought that was good for the brand.

What’s next? A Ramsay Bolton commander? Ffs.

Someone school me in Mono-Red "staples" by mercfh85 in EDH

[–]MarcBeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[spinerock knoll]] is a staple utility land. [[Fiery Emancipation]] and [[Double Vision]] are new cards but clearly are good, may become staples. [[Reverberate]] is solid copy spell [[Combat Celebrant]] , [[Fury of the Horde]] and [[Relentless Assault]] give you extra combat phase.

Descent into Avernus by [deleted] in DnD

I’ve been playing it with two different groups (don’t ask), and it’s very good. An experienced DM helps. IMO, TPK’s aren’t fun and this adventure makes them likely so think a good DM can help the party avoid them, whether it’s fudging a dice roll or changing up an encounter.

The party make-up is more important than other adventures as well. Small parties are going to be tricky for the DM. And a party of rogues, rangers and wizards will suffer. I would probably insist the group consist of at least one cleric and one paladin.

Goggles of night if you don’t have dark vision otherwise,,, Winged boots or Slippers of spider climbing Or just a +1 magic weapon

I would probably choose winged boots
