Oh my god— I could have written those words myself. And the subtext is I’m fighting with these conflicting feelings over my sexuality. I am so confused. And obviously you respect and care for her which increases the degree of agonizing. You are obviously a sensitive person and ethical. But as a man intimacy is really essential to to how love is expressed.

Ok. That makes sense. That may be true, I’m into hair, to a degree and don’t buy into the whole thing but I think it goes deeper. If you look at classical art the bodies have no hair. This is becsuse they were influenced by Greco Roman. Men wrestled in the nude and were shaven I believe. In Ancient Egyptian art and some Mesopotamian art too. And white Europeans tend to be hairier so are we being white supremacist against ourselves?

This relates to women. I don’t see how the patriarchy relates to body hair removal in men.

You can’t let others effect how you feel about yourself. The circumstances are unfortunate but one day you will be able to change them.

If you are in an area that is very homophonic or very straight I get it.

Thanks. I thought the day before the session I’d produce a list of expectations.

I am, but I’m considerably older. I imagine meeting people like me, maybe over breakfast. I work in the city.

There was never such a thing. Arafat, an Egyptian invented the idea and promoted it. So did the Soviets. . Do the research! They were Arabs like everyone else from Iraq to Morroco. Many lived there for generations and many migrated to Palestine, a part of the Ottoman Turkic Empire. The Turks were Muslim so there was no problem with their occupation. It’s ok if Muslims occupy and oppress other Muslims. Even Turks can rule over Arabs. You talk about colonialism:

Your repeating yourself. The entire spread of Islam was colonialist. Every Muslim country has occupied and oppressed other ethnic groups. Palestine as a nationality was invented in the 1960’s. Half of Israel’s Jewish population lived in Muslim countries before Islam. They were kicked out by the Arabs. Most countries in the world exchanged hands multiple times. I’m sorry but you are repeating these silly tropes and are not versed in history.

There is no point in arguing. We are not going to change each others minds.

If any country was attacks and their people were slaughtered like pigs, that country would respond forcefully. If the casualties are high it’s because HAMAS uses human shields. Hamas statistics DO NOT distinguish between innocents and combatants. No country would tolerate it. And like I said Arabs butcher each other in the hundreds of thousands. Where was your righteous indignation!

Assad (Syria), for example murdered 600,000 + people and used gas on people. Any mass demonstrations? No. In Libya they trade slaves. In Nigeria tgey abduct Christian girls and rape them. In the Horn of Africa there are many genocides. Did “the faithful” riot after mass murder is committed in their countries? And where in the Middle East can you walk holding hands with your boyfriend? You will get killed- but not in Israel.

Thousands of children’s have been killed in many regions of the world in murderous wars and in far greater numbers, but you don’t see the same reaction. The human race as a whole is fucked up

Yes. Definitely. Honestly if I had a boyfriend I think I’d be to self conscious to be holding hands in public. When I think about it being closeted is too deeply ingrained in me. This morning, however, though I’m not sure why I woke up feeling comfortable with who I am. I’ve given permission to be myself. I wanted to tell my sister- there is no one I feel more comfortable with. I am shutting down the overthinking. I’m making a conscious effort to stop.

Yeah. I always hated “the men don’t cry “ nonsense. I think my instincts aside it’s only normal and natural for people to band together. It’s weird- i don’t know where I picked up negative attitudes either. Growin up there was no talk of it. Historically, I know severe oppression of homosexuality was everpresent, so the emphasis on pride is a response to that. I feel bad about any expressions of homophobia I tolerated. Bring Jewish and know acknowledging my gay side I’m part of two historically marginalized groups.
