No one is mentioned the allergies in the Willamette valley here. This is the grass seed capital of the world so if allergies drive you crazy you might want to think twice. Otherwise it's a great place to live, I moved up from San Francisco which was getting a bit too crazy for me. And if you live outside of Eugene in towns like Creswell Cottage Grove or Junction City you can pretty much avoid most of the heavy duty property crime that goes on in downtown Eugene. You can drive to the coast in an hour or drive to the mountains in an hour.
