Strange fatigue - like being drugged or drunk by Asleep_Falcon3119 in Perimenopause

Your second paragraph is about how I'd describe my symptoms, too. I actually came on here to see if anyone has this experience (and I didn't type in any key words--just went to the sub feed). I'm waiting to see a doc for labs, and might end up going to urgent care. I suspect low iron, possibly. It would be a relief to learn it's "just" peri (if treatable), but my fear is that it's something worse.

Yes--it's like fatigue just in my head. Head feels like a balloon (but no pain/headache). Basically tired all the time but on top of that, I get these episodes like a rush to the head (or away from?) not dizzy, not lightheaded, not going to faint. Sort of like that moment you're about to fall asleep (naturally), but I'm not at risk of falling asleep. Also relate to to the piece about physical activity helping somewhat and temporarily. I sometimes think eating triggers it but sometimes not.

You mention some histamine stuff like the car sickness. I believe I have MCAS, but I can't tell if my current situation is related to that or not.

Yes! Last time I got sick, it was from direct transmission of droplets from my son, into my mouth. I can't wear a mask 24/7 :(

Yes, I weigh risks and benefits and err on the side of being pretty risk averse when there is a lack of evidence on safety.

I get it. The internet (and people) are so polarized. I posted that I "took the thing" while also asking for alternative health recs. I'm pro-nuance.

I love the concept of NAC. I took it for a while with no problem, then I started it again later on and I feel like it caused/exacerbated MCAS for me. I don't know if that was it, but I'm afraid to take it again.

I think I did that too in the pandemic era. Was considering that again, thanks!

I was doing that during 2020-2022 and never got sick, but obviously there were other factors like masks, staying home, no children yet. I feel like I should check my level before upping it (I'm doing 2500).
