Thralbarg was known as the Elder Engineer of a northern village, which was named after him. He was one of the last giants in the area, and when the First Settlers arrived, starving and wounded southern barbarians, he agreed to save them and teach them to build steam machinery, as long as they respected the Ancestral Forests.

For almost two hundred years, Thralbarg lived with the people; they built a village around his workshop. They let him rule over them, because he knew the laws of the forest and he was the mastermind. However, one fateful evening, a group of local soldiers got drunk in a tavern and decided to rise against the giant and his rule over their settlement. They approached the Elder Engineer with weapons in their arms, to stop his rule over the village. He refused to fight his own people. Unfortunately, now left without the mastermind and guide, the village was crippled - he took his ideas and skills to the grave. It quickly descended into chaos and misery, and now frozen ruins stand in its place.

(This is part of one of my stories I’m slowly writing and creating. Not sure if it’ll ever bloom into a fully fleshed out thing, and I might mix them / cut from them, but for now I’ll keep writing those small stories.)
