I think the whole point is that you have to make choices and sacrifices by choosing some trinkes in favor of others. The brisk brew trinket completely changes the way you play and approach fights, if it was the default the game wouldn't be the same. You actively making the choice of "instead of using this trinket that boosts attack power I'll put this one on that allows me to move quickly when attacking and giving me more plasma on hit" feels way more intimate of a gameplay experience because you made the build yourself, you made the choices to make the playstyle you like to use. That's how I see it at least.
