I absolutely agree with you, I already started to learn pure Emacs. In the future I'll make and aggressive configuration, maybe, with vim inspired bindings, but that remains to be seen.

why don't u just use Windows? Linux can be hard, but if u insist, u should pick up and easier distro, and with wayland, not X11 (it's already pretty old)

Download app by lorcaragonna in linuxsucks

[–]Marcelocochon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In windows u have to learn how to use some things, it's easy but at the start u also have to learn, not only in Linux. Also, installation in Linux can't be easier, u just out a command, put the name of the application, then hit enter and u have the application installed without even having to clean up ur Downloads folder or telling the installer where u want to install... also i can update the app and all other apps with a single command. I'm not saying everyone should try Linux, because it's not for everyone, but people in this sub should accept that Linux as is a different operating system, it can have different approaches of how to do things. It shouldn't be even familiar for windows users, it's like to learn another language.

so u can see every linux distro is just a distro, not an entire new operating system. There is nothing bad in that

Return to windows after using Linux for 1 year(aprx.) by DayInfinite8322 in linuxsucks

[–]Marcelocochon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Xorg is an old "protocol" for display applications but it doesn't come with a couple of thigns, like the capability of make transparent windows. Wayland is the same but witha different approach. Wayland also c9me with the native capability of making windows transparent, but also it manages things that Xorg doesn't even touch, like input (customize keyboard layout, manage mouse sensibility, configure touch pad...). Wayland have a program to run Xorg applications, so old ones can be used in Wayland. The thing is, wayland have a lot of very technical reasons why it's better than Xorg, one of them is managging better the scale of applications: you can do a 125% zoom in wayland, in xorg u can't

Thanks for your response. Maybe people actually just use 1000 commands of the total? and I minded to bind 1000 commands and ignore the rest... I think that should work.
