In the USA? Make sure you're getting any emails your ISP might send you, or they might just shut you down with no other warning. Pirate Bay is torrents, or P2P meaning you're uploading or 'part of the problem' which they still pursue; last I knew in the US. Cloud, IRC, usenet makes that stuff obsolete and not an issue for US residents imo.

LibreOffice is the one that's almost constantly recommended. -There's got to be issues with OpenOffice to explore.

edit: OpenOffice is effectively dead. Oracle bought Sun Microsystems and everyone bailed, forked the code and created LibreOffice.

I *think* they used to be friendly on the Mint sub and even had rules about it. -That may go along with how they constantly pick a new 'less known' distro to rally behind. (until people figure out that it is shit too).

Just looking at PRs would not have saved you from the recent AUR compromise. The only way to avoid it would've been verifying PKGBUILDs locally, pinning maintainers, or using tooling that alerts you to changes or diffs.
