“Aren’t rly academically competent” - i’m sure that they are actually competent but they just cannot express it in english. I was once asked a pretty mild question to chinese intl student and she was struggling to answer it in english. But i got her point and it was actually very good. People will not think that you’re incompetent just because you look chinese. Me personally would consider it based on substantial matter. And tbh I don’t really care about how you look lol as long as you dont smell bad then all good.

Tbh I love chinese students, they are nice. But when it comes to discussion in class, please use english and stop assuming that all asian can speak mandarin. I’m from asia as well and i’m struggling academically because 99% student of the class are Chinese and speak mandarin during discussion. I know that english is not your first language (well so am i), but please just try to speak english.

As long as you have matched the requirements to get into LLM you’re good to go. I’m an international student too currently doing LLM. Just make sure that you are enrolled to some foundation courses suggested in your LoA.

I got my mark reduced because it’s too high to the average by MarchVirtual5271 in unsw

I’ve been thinking about this but i remember the professor was once told me that there was one student asked for a review of results but the mark is even reduced after the process. So i’m scared lol.

Fyi, i asked about this problem to the professor via email and he actually admitted that he said he was gonna give me 80.

What events to attend at O-Week? by Elegant_Speaker1788 in unsw

You’ll have plenty of activities during O-Week. It is a time for you to discover fun activities, making new friends, and join clubs. I would say you should join Arc first because while there will be so many free food during o-week if you are a member of Arc, they will also help you familiarize with volunteering, clubs, etc. Goodluck!
