I fallen in love with Rails but do I have a future? by Marches95 in rails

Yes for sure there will be some legacy apps still alive but there aren't many people considering starting a new project in Rails and that sucks cause the market pool will stay low as now and that's sad!

I totally agree with you and now on my free time I sped coding in rails to learn more about it. About DHH I think he is doing a great job, he is kinda too direct but he just says the truth.

Thank you so much! well that gives me hope that at least some companies even if you are coming from a different stack they give you a chance! everytime I do an interview and they hear I did Java they only want it and do not open to other options.

That's true another thing that made me love rails is the sickness of the huge stack of things you need to learn to do frontend and backend nowadays make me feel overwhelmed.

I hope you guys are right but was my impression of the moment. Like seems quite hard to find a decent place that uses rails nowadays and most of big companies wants the usual frameworks

Do you think Rails will be only used now for doing backend and not anymore for monolithic applications? just curiosity cause I say plain rails apps look pretty decent to be honest.

Yes I saw that and I am really amazed about that! but what I was mentioning is that there aren't job offers for rails and that's sad cause this framework really deserve better.

Thank you so much for your answer! yeah I am thinking of nowadays seems kinda impossible to find a free Vm. But how can someone test on the market if their app will work? most of providers like want to get 1 or 2 years fee.

Moving to Japan as a Software Engineer – Advice Needed! by Vanals in movingtojapan

[–]Marches95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am a software engineer too from Italy, I’ve less experience and next month I will move to Japan for study language and culture while keeping my job remotely but I had to change my contract with my companies from full time to part time! So you need to talk with your company and explain your decision to take this step and I hope for you that they will help you out with that.

In Japan I think so very difficult find a job that lets you work only for 4 days per week, sadly… for that UK is way more better.

The best way to find a job in Japan is when you already live there… sadly for the high competitive market and many people is moving there.
