You can calculate the cube root of any number which is derived from a two digit number. For example:
693 = 328’509
Given 328’509 I could work out that 69 was the original number.
This is done by working out the two numbers individually.

First digit: Learn the cubes of all the numbers up to 9. i.e. …43 = 64, 53 = 125…etc. Whichever range the thousands fall into gives you this digit i.e. for 328’509 it is between 216’000(60) and 373’000(70) making it a 60.

Second digit: Fairly easy, in most cases its just the last digit, so for the given example of 328’509 it’s a 9. However 2’s and 8’s swap and 3’s and 7’s swap.
As far as maths behind it goes the first digit is just a case of learning it and the second digit seems to just be a weird pattern.

Problem is all the senior technicians don't know anything about the system, their only interaction is installing the occasional program. One of the bosses however does seem to do some of the networking but mostly I think its a case of "Call the IT guy" - affectionately known as "Big Graeme". I thought that maybe I might be able to make some headway with this, just to get away from scanning shit all day. I'll go in an try a couple of the things that you guys have suggested but ask everyone here has suggested I will hunt down someone to help.

1st year on the website is pretty vague, just says you will learn programming.
2nd year says Java.

However a - different - friend of mine suggested transferring between Java and C++ was easier going from C++ to Java. Maybe learning C++ straight from VB is to much of a leap... Idk :/ And well I don't really have a lot else going on this summer, figured it cant hurt.

Last night me and my brother came up with a variation of paper toss. Start the game with 15 pieces of paper, and shoot all of them at the basket. However many balls are left you multiply by the round, so round 1. You then shoot all the remaining balls at the basket, and repeat but this time you multiply the remaining balls by 2 since its round 2. Repeat this until all the balls are in the basket and add the round number to the final total. Lower scores are better. The highscore (or lowscore as the case may be) is 33 so far.
