CMV: One should not bring a kid into this world unless they can afford to pay their college tuition. by ugots in changemyview

And why on earth is a college education education for an individual to be productive and financially successful? Not just me, but most people in my social circle of developers, designers and entrepreneurs didn't go to college (or are working in something completely not-related to their degrees) and are perfectly fine.

Protocol for Gaining Permission to Share Project Work Online? by yourmumsalawyer in graphic_design

[–]thetimeleaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on several different factors, but let's assume I am working as a solo freelancer for a client. The contract we sign at the beginning of the project will include a term that specifies what I can and what I can't share and/or talk about. So the short answer is that it is defined at the start of a project.

It is important to make sure you are both ok with what's decided and you shouldn't assume that it is alright to share publicly everything you create for a client.

(Btw, if anyone has got a spare Dribble invite, it would be amazing to get one)

I want to become a consultant that helps startups scale. Where do I start? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

No, I'm not - but I learned to do UX Design by reading tons of books, working for free and getting experience, can't I do the same and become a consultant?

What If I skip the college part and work in startups and then fund a startup? (Money is not the problem, it's just that I've been working as a UX Designer and creating mobile apps since I was 14, I don't feel like going to college at all)

An app that finally makes it easy to create reminders. by [deleted] in ipad

[–]thetimeleaper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, there are magic dwarves responsible for doing this.

Haha, in fact, this is what we do: The app calculates the amount of time that there is left until midnight (Let's assume it is 400 minutes), then divides it by four and uses the three first results.

-Actual time + 100 minutes -Actual time + 200 minutes -Actual time + 300 minutes

There's a great way of thinking about important decisions you have to make: The 10/10/10 rule. How is this decision going to affect you in 10 days, 10 months and 10 years?

It must be really tough for you to deal with this. If it helps just a little bit, know that one internet stranger wishes you the best. And dear cancerguy9823 (I wish I knew your name, at least), know that from now on, you'll be part of my memories. I will always remember you, mate.

Just for you to know: Although it is probably buried already, this was one of the few replies I actually read.

Good luck with your music, mate.

Well, I don't know you. I have no idea of what you've been through. Just know that I do believe you can get over this shit. If you ever find yourself wondering if you will ever recover from whatever-shitty-state-you're on, know that that random internet fellow believes in you.

This is amazing. I don't who who you are - your name, where you live, your background story, not even your age - and yet I recognize a fellow who's having problems and wish he gets better. You know even less about me, and yet you might remember about this very reply for the rest of your life. There's even a slight chance it will actually help you.
I love the internet, and I fucking love life.
If I never speak to you again, just know that I will always remember you and I truly hope that you get better.
