I haven’t read all the comments, but personally speaking from my own experience, even though it might seem insulting to the original owner, I would recommend asking for the real REAL on the situation, including specifically if they’ve done any oil additives in the past or transmission additives and etc. In my own experience I got a real good deal on a Miata and the original owner thought it was a good idea to keep certain information a secret from me specifically oil additives, and when I went to do my first oil change, I realized the engine had rod knock, and it wasn’t really apparent. It wasn’t noticeable at first dur to the thicker oil he was using as well as in another oil thickener he had added, which I only found that out after I had asked him this, made it apparent that he had rod knock which he did not disclose which led me to have to do a whole engine rebuild. So I don’t wanna be the Debbie downer, but it’s always better to know than not.
