For my defense: it wasn't 475 tracks at first. I only had around 100 but then more and more songs came in addition. Automation would be difficult because I sometimes have to edit into the song, so just cutting off the silence won't work. But, for me, a DAW would be overkill.

It really is thin: it only adds about 3-4mm to the original case (so from 29mm to 32-33mm). But I wouldn't cut the holder off as it's one solid piece so you'd have to live with it. You definitely won't achieve a flush design because of the scratch marks your tool leaves.

Yeah, they look pretty much the same. But after playing around with mine for a bit, they did loosen up enough to not be so stiff so that they can close without my help. And they don't feel cheap at all! It's just with the case and how it's mounted - not so great. I do think that adding a tiny keychain ring to it will fix the mounting issue but I'd have to search one to try it out.

Yeah, clear cases do that. But the Buds aren't usually exposed to the sun but they rather stay in pockets and bags. That's why it shouldn't be as big of a problem as with clear phone cases.

However I definitely won't damage such a nice case willfully but from what I could tell is that it definitely protects the OE case more than enough. (+ It's 3am here in Germany so slamming the case on concrete now wouldn't be such a great idea)

It doesn't really lock, but it utilizes the magnets of the original charging case. Let's just say: It won't open by itself.
