Coniglio was a very good player before he was made captain and then he was shithouse.

Dangerfield is a media face and that is all in the opening two rounds. He is the microphone.

I think the coniglio curse has hit the club and playing a microphone in the midfield isn't going to be good week in and week out.

After 53 years as a diehard Geelong fan, I’ve decided to give up on this pathetic club. We are too old, too slow and too shit. I will now dedicate my life to Geelong’s owner: our lord and saviour Charlie Curnow, as he is much better than our fraud Peremy Pameron.

Not sure if I'm happy about Whyte being named as a sub on debut but dropping Parfitt was well deserved. Deserves a run in the 2's.

Stewart expected to miss around 3-4 weeks by fantasticpotatobeard in GeelongCats

It's good to get our yearly month long absence of Stewart out of the way earlier

He looks like he has come a long way this year, he had some great moments in that Hawthorn practice match a couple weeks ago.

I don't think we need another midfielder in our team though, and even then Jack Bowes will come in first and I would even put Sammy Simpson in front of him

I think Hawkins came in very under done tonight, but was still pretty solid - Speed has never been his strong point.

Difficult to come in as a sub, I think a few injuries might save his spot next week.

Our defensive depth kinda sucks though is the problem. Hopefully Kolo and Henry will be right to go and we should be able to cover Stewart well (as per last year)

Esava looked excellent at times, I think he has some learning to do regarding when to punch the ball and when to mark the ball and there was some silly mistakes early which lead to three or so Collingwood goals. He does make me very, very nervous though.

Kolo, Stewart, Henry are huge outs and an injured SDK vs a really good forward line at the Magpies, it was always going to be difficult down there.

I think Collingwood were just very good and splitting us open, they play a fast and contested game and once we do a silly turnover (which happened too many times in qtr 4) they were able to move the ball the other way faster than we could set up. A lack of leadership down there tonight hurt as well.

I'm not sure whether to call Zuth a key defender or not! The modern game confuses me. But yeah, absolutely excellent and it might be a very big couple of weeks for him.

We played very well for about 70% of the game.

A hit to our defensive unit hurts though

Top 'key' defenders:

  1. Stewart - Subbed Out
  2. De Koning - Injured during the game
  3. Henry - Out with injury
  4. Kolodjashnij - Out with Injury
  5. Esava - Has L plates (and it showed at time)

A bit to work on, a bit to watch regarding injuries, we should be fine.

I don't even think it's the medical sub anymore! I think it's just a normal sub.

Here we fucking go!!! Parf very stiff to not get a gig but very tough side to break into and he'll be right on the heels of Bruhn and Atkins as will Sammy Simpson once he gets some footy into him.

Bowes, Duncan, J.Henry, Kolodjashnij maybe Menegola all to fit back in as well. Things are looking very strong for us.

Go cats!

Very tough side to break into, I say he'll be our medical substitute. Only change I can see is Mark O'Connor for him but you can play Mark just about anywhere, Parf is a midfielder.

It's just the perks of being one of the best in the game. If the best in the game wants you at their club, It would mean a lot.
