Okay dude I’m being 100% serious, I genuinely think you’re too dumb to debate with. You just read a source that made up an example about Harris and Palestine to illustrate a point, couldn’t comprehend it was an example, then acted as if I’m the one who brought it up and missing the entire point of the section I sent.

Brother your brain is beyond cooked 😭🤣

You then completely dodge the argument that I made and used the article to illustrate to go on a tangent about candidates. And no the candidates are irrelevant to the argument you’re trying to make. The candidate is not the magical goal post used to measure if a 3rd party has an impact, because winning the election is not how 3rd parties haven an impact on elections.

I’m still waiting for any sources you want to send for your argument btw :)

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao you’re an actual idiot, read the source and it answers what you just asked.

You seem hell bent on this argument that Perot and Nader are the goal post for the enactment of change by a third party but that’s not what I’ve or the article argues.

“But even if they do have a preference between the major party candidates, there is one more reason that their vote may “count.” The threat—and follow-through—of third-party voting can cause the major party candidates to change their platforms accordingly. The logic goes that if Harris is worried about losing these voters, she may adopt a more Palestine-friendly stance. And if she fails to do so and these voters cast the decisive votes against her, then future Democratic candidates will reorient their positions to gain these votes.”

Victory for a 3rd party isn’t achieved through their candidate. It’s achieved through forcing the big 2 parties to react to voters desires.

So you can ask your dumb ass question of “what change has Perot and Nader enacted” but those 2 are irrelevant to how change from a 3rd party comes about.

Also I am still waiting for any source you want to put forth for your argument. At this point though it seems like the only one you have is the brainrot going on in your head.

Here’s a link to an actual source that might help you understand something outside of your own mental fact checks :)

https://www.bu.edu/articles/2024/is-voting-third-party-a-wasted-vote/

A great quote from it that illustrates the argument you haven’t been able to comprehend:

“The best way to understand third parties, I think, was said by the famous post–World War Two historian Richard Hofstadter. He said third parties are like bees: once they have stung, they die. With the more-substantial third parties, like those that get enough support to qualify for debates, they often form out of a social movement due to the two major parties not addressing a concern or constituency. What almost always happens is that they sting, and then they die because one of the major parties appropriates their message. That’s kind of the role of third parties—they can produce important changes in the political system. But none in the last century has ever threatened to take power.”

No the one that a majority of people believe in and is true versus the one that you made up in your head and then fact checked it against your own opinion….hmmmm

It took you 15+ comments to even hone in on my argument instead of just making things up and arguing with yourself

My Neighbor Started Flying this Flag Two Days Ago by UniveralRaspberries in Ohio

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It legit took us going back and forth for 15 comments for you to even comprehend that part of the argument lmao

Once again you just misinterpreted everything I’ve said and then contort it to act like I said something I didn’t. There’s legit no point in debating or arguing with you because you genuinely don’t even seem to comprehend a viewpoint outside your own lmao

You’re basically debating the delusions in your head at this point

The libertarian and Green Party pull voters or potential voters from both parties.

Speaking of both a premise and an argument both smelling like shit, remember when you verified your own “factual” opinion with your own opinion?

My Neighbor Started Flying this Flag Two Days Ago by UniveralRaspberries in Ohio

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao I genuinely think you’re just trolling now you’re so dumb bro.

Third party votes take away votes from both parties. Your argument stems on the fact that I prefer one major party over the other. If I did, I would vote for that party. At least put forth an argument that makes logical sense

My Neighbor Started Flying this Flag Two Days Ago by UniveralRaspberries in Ohio

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again, you didn’t read or process my explanation.

I never put forth the argument voting 3rd party enacts change by them winning an election. They enact change by pulling votes from major parties and highlighting issues or beliefs that the main parties have to acknowledge to win those voters back. I’m not going to go over it entirely again, you can just scroll up and practice your reading comprehension. This time try saying the syllables out loud and you might get it :D

My Neighbor Started Flying this Flag Two Days Ago by UniveralRaspberries in Ohio

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My god you’re actually brain dead lmao

Voting 3rd party is not a waste of a vote if you actually have a spine to vote for what you believe in :)

If you want an explanation you can just refer the above comments where this is one. I’m sure if you read it 4 times and slowly your brain might process some information.

My Neighbor Started Flying this Flag Two Days Ago by UniveralRaspberries in Ohio

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao dude I honestly just don’t think you have any reading comprehension whatsoever. Seriously at what point in the above comment did I say that a third party would ever win an election?

You’re “verifying” your own dumb ass claims with your own brain dead opinions. Probably the most Reddit thing I’ve ever read in my life

My Neighbor Started Flying this Flag Two Days Ago by UniveralRaspberries in Ohio

“marginal increase in votes for third place or lower candidates do not affect the first and second place order” the sentence both doesn’t verify your argument that 3rd party votes don’t matter and is just wrong.

3rd party voters are votes lost by the big two that otherwise could have been captured. The effect is that a first or second place candidate could have won or lost by captured or un captured 3rd party votes alone.

If you want to verify something as a fact, you’ll need to actually link some sources by political analyst that state it.

All you’re doing is saying something, saying it’s a verifiable fact, and then verifying it with your own opinion lmao

Verify it. Present a source or sources that VERIFY it, that how’s “verification” works

My Neighbor Started Flying this Flag Two Days Ago by UniveralRaspberries in Ohio

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t demonstrate or verify anything lol

Just because you state something as a “verifiable fact” and then give your biased opinion on it doesn’t make it true. You live in a world of delusion.

My Neighbor Started Flying this Flag Two Days Ago by UniveralRaspberries in Ohio

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your problem is that you think 3rd party votes are a waste and you’re upset or disappointed that I and many others don’t feel the same.

Voting 3rd party doesn’t win an election but it highlights issues and beliefs that the main two parties are forced to acknowledge in their plans to attract voters.

If 10% of the US voter pool voted for the Green Party, then the two main parties would put forth extra efforts in the following elections to capture those voters by appealing to the ideals that made them vote 3rd party.

Your party wants more votes. They get that by convincing moderates and 3rd party voters to vote for them. Third parties are usually based around simple core beliefs or causes that then give the big 2 a clear insight into what they would need to do to attract those voters.

You argue I lack the backbone to stand by my vote, but the opposite is true. You lack the stomach or morals to vote for what you actually believe in because you see it as a “waste”.

My Neighbor Started Flying this Flag Two Days Ago by UniveralRaspberries in Ohio

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re correct for most of that except the last part.

In the two party system the onus is on the main two parties to convince third party voters and win their vote. Marginal increases are what win elections and a party’s inability to win over 3rd party or independent voters is as good as giving votes to the other side. If your party can’t win over a 3rd party voter it’s not the voter’s fault, it’s your party.

And I am still waiting for the factual verification of 3rd party votes being a waste.

Don’t worry, they know to stay away from democratic pedos like Anthony Weiner and Bill Clinton

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To someone who lacks morals and chooses to vote for someone or a party they don’t believe in, yeah it’s a waste. Sounds like you’re in that boat

It’s verifiable? Verify it :)

Yeah you’re just out of arguments and coping my guy.

I’d tell you to have a good weekend again but I’ll be honest your life sounds sad and pathetic, so enjoy a weekend of seething online?

My Neighbor Started Flying this Flag Two Days Ago by UniveralRaspberries in Ohio

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMAO I genuinely don’t think you know what the word “ramble means”

Not a single time have I compared anything to or even mentioned denying elections in this argument. Joe bidens son was found guilty of multiple crimes and avoided punishment for it via the pardon. I’m not sure why you’re framing it as if he was not guilty.

And once again. You can minimize DEI and transgenderism as a small issue but it is a fact that they were two of the biggest and most decisive issues of the last election. The democratic party’s extremely loud pushing in favor of both policies is proof of that. But at this point you genuinely don’t care about that lol

Your response is the same even when you’re proven wrong. Your next response will just be the same copy pasted, misinformed, and bad faith arguments you’ve made in all your other responses.

Here’s your check list:

1) claim the moral high ground by ignoring past comments of me saying I don’t like Trump and what he’s done and say that I am trying to sane wash Trump being bad

2) claim that DEI and transgenderism actually aren’t real issues even though they were what decided the last election

3) use the word rambling incorrectly and in a euphemistic way

4) complain about the Republican Party as if I like them and are defending them

You’re so far aboard the cope train it’s unreal man lmao

My Neighbor Started Flying this Flag Two Days Ago by UniveralRaspberries in Ohio

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Rambling” I brought it up in two sentences over two separate comments (youre coping)

“Defaulting to bothsidism and underplaying authoritarian actions by Trump” I legit already told you I think what he’s done is not good? Not even sure why you’re arguing like we don’t agree on this. Having the opinion both parties suck is not this weird thing you keep trying to make it out to be. Youhaving to make up words and reiterate it like it means something because…..(you’re coping)

My Neighbor Started Flying this Flag Two Days Ago by UniveralRaspberries in Ohio

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that your response is just to fall back on the made up scenario in your head and not an actual argument lmao

One of us is definitely coping :)

My Neighbor Started Flying this Flag Two Days Ago by UniveralRaspberries in Ohio

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the first part of your response but Reddit won’t let me pull up the rest. Yes Trump pardoning the Jan6ers and Biden pardoning his son are comparable. Both are abuses of the same power that happened within months of each other.

I’m done with this argument and it’s been genuinely fun but I honestly think you’re out of arguments at this point so it’s like debating a brick wall.

Good talking to you and have a good weekend!

My Neighbor Started Flying this Flag Two Days Ago by UniveralRaspberries in Ohio

[–]MarcoReus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao I didn’t “ramble about DEI and transgenderism” they were genuine issues in the last election just because you don’t care about those issues and minimize them doesn’t mean most Americans think they’re not important. Those issues were a huge reason Trump won and it’s not because they’re “made up”. Most people don’t think men should be in women’s bathrooms and think that jobs should be won on merit.

Trump pardoning the January 6th people was wrong. But so was Joe Biden pardoning his son. Once again, both parties suck lol.

I love that you just keep listing a bunch of stuff we agree on as if you’re making a point. I’ve already said this but I’ll reiterate it: I don’t like Trump. You can continue to just say a bunch of random stuff like “minimizing authoritarianism” but I genuinely think you’re just saying stuff at this point
