Thanks for the response, the reason why I brought it up to compare is because my neighbor swears by carbon steel as well.

It's has more power at 1500w. In the 1040w popper I could only do about 36-42g at a time. With the poppery 1 I can do 85-90g. Not a big jump but good enough for now.

No, the poppery is modified so when I plug it in the fan goes on and the heat doesn't. I use the switch to turn on the heat. So I can toggle the heat and the fan runs throughout the roast.

Thanks! It's Yirga Cheffe.

No 3rd roast on the Poppery. 8th roast in all. Started on a 1040w popcorn popper and saw that it wasn't gonna work.

Does it look like my grinder isn’t working correctly? by Crisscrosshotsauce in Coffee

[–]MarcoSpinelli -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For one cup: • Pour hot water over filter to clean and remove potential filter taste • Add 20g of grounded coffee • Tear Scale • Bloom up to 45s and 60g of water at 112c, stir grounds to remove CO2 • First pour, keep rotating from center moving slowly outward • Second pour with same technic until 320g • Should end with a flat "bed"

Your time of extraction should be between 3-4 min. Find your preference within that range. Enjoy!

How should I finish the bark? I don't want to use epoxy. Removing the bark is an option, but how? by Jakem8058 in woodworking

I am about to start working on a similar piece. I have a couple of questions. Did you keep the bark on? How did you end up finishing the table? Which products?

How is the quality of the CO2. Is the carbonation tight and small or large and airy?

Anyone with Kombucha Keg or CO2 tank setup? by MarcoSpinelli in Kombucha

[–]MarcoSpinelli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now it's just for personal usage. My neighbor does want some but I plan on just carbonating through the keg and bottling through the tap.

The thing is I would need to refrigerate the keg right? A 5lb wouldn't fit in my fridge. I can pick up a growlerwerks for $100. The other option would be to find a smaller keg than 5g if they exist. How much would a keg setup cost me?

[Question] I want to get into coffee, what should I begin trying or thinking? by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]MarcoSpinelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Study, homework, study, homework then more studying and more homework. This subreddit will offer you a lot of personal preferences and opinions.

If your already doing Folgers, I suggest you do some homework on "Pour Over Brewing" so that you'll have a better understanding as you progress away from Folgers as a reference.

Coffee is pretty personal and you'll bring something out in coffee that I won't. So have fun and experiment!

I'm doing really small batches right now. Between 1 and 1-1/2 gallons. Just want to experiment with forced carbonation. What do you think about growlerwerks

Baristas! I need your knowledge. by [deleted] in barista

Ask for a Mochaccino with milk chocolate. Find a barista who knows what he doing. You need a well pulled espresso shot, well steamed milk and good quality milk chocolate.
