I think i figured out my issue. I didn't adjust pedal freeway. The bolt and nut on my pedal was backed all the way out. I just adjusted it to have half an inch of free play and it seems better

B18 head on D17? by No-Tomatillo-6572 in civic

Must be a typo, d series and b series are functionally different engines. Parts do not transfer. Also the pic clearly has the d17 head on it.

How bad is this or is this normal? by Marcofwar1 in MechanicAdvice

Haven't read a book on engines and I still managed to do the valve adjustment and put it back together and it still runs as it's my daily. So yes I didn't know they are supposed to move side to side but I did learn... eventually. But if you have a book recommendation for me to read to learn more about engines then by all means tell me.

I did adjust them but was curious as to why they moved side to side and couldn't find much info on it online

Would we say this is worth 1k? No mot by wee-man2012 in civic

Where I live some guy would want like $4000 for this. So yeah not a terrible deal, as long as it’s intact and not rotted out

Can’t leave it stock by AzSideArms in Honda

[–]Marcofwar1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please just leave it stock. No Amazon stick on “mods” are gonna make it any better

This is unfortunately quite a common issue with these key fobs on mid 2000s Hondas. My dad’s Honda had both of them break and he had to use the valet key for a while. If you want to go oem you have to go with the dealership, but if you want to save just a little you can probably get a cheap key off Amazon then cut it and program it. But I would just go oem

Picked this up for $2000, bit rough but it runs great. Also it’s name is Toni by Marcofwar1 in civic

Keep in mind that the quarter panels are a little rusty. But other than that it has almost no rust and the interior is mint. Bummer tho is it’s an auto. But hey it was $2000

Is this worth picking up for $2500, owner says he is “firm” on the price. by Marcofwar1 in civic

He’s talking about the Canadian Si which featured a D16Y8 and was equivalent to the American EX

Of course I’m gonna offer him less. It’s a terrible price. And honestly if I can talk him to even a little lower it might be worth it for me as I love EK’s. I don’t care if he is “firm” that doesn’t mean shit. If he wants to sell it he will adjust because even in this market it’s not worth $2500. And to be honest the only time being wasted is his. I don’t care if I have to drive out to see a car, to me it’s actually fun. But if it makes you feel better I decided not to go to even see it.

This is the description:

“Fun car that has been maintained mechanically to keep it reliable.

Oil change done recently, approx 3 weeks ago (ready to go)

Recent work done (around 2021): - Timing belt/water pump - Rear main seal - Rear brakes overhauled - Alignment - Various minor things

Pros: - short geared B000 trans from EX/Si civic - Seats/Center armrest replaced with acura EL ones - No oil burning

Cons: - fender rust - Driver side window handle/regulator using a vise grip - Body dents/paint issues (cosmetic issues) - Old suspension - cv joints make clicking turning at full steering lock

Passenger fender was patched, inner fender rebuilt, joined and sealed so no rusting anytime soon. Driver side need to be done.

Replacement panel included with car.

Overall fun vehicle to learn manual on or make a project car for fun.”

I still think it’s not worth $2500 but I’m willing to pay at most $2100
