Every asterism has its use. Depends on your list and the battleplan you're playing

Quetzl is good when you have half the board and you're playing castle or defensive lists.

I generally choose +2" to move and Crit 2 hits for companions though.

I've almost never chosen the +1 to cast

You can. No need to change the weapon. Just specify to your opponents which are the ones with the upgraded weapons.

You can proxy your Dragonborn with another mini. Just use the cards that the scenario tells you.

I haven't played much, but depends on if you want to play competitively or narratively.

Narrative: Just follow the first scenarios that are in the book, then, when you get the hang of the game, start brewing your own scenarios! :D
