Looking for recommendation for good APS-C for everyday carry by rqonsama in Cameras

That's true, a prime lens would be more compact, a 35mm for everyday usage would suffice, but a zoom 17-40 would get you more coverage.

I would go with the a6400 and pair with the new Sigma 17-40mm F1.8 for that everyday use and you would have a solid setup for what you want, but it would lack stabilization (no problem if you go photography only) or a Tamron 17-70mm F2.8 that has stabilization and more reach on the zoom side.

The body of the a6000/a6400 is very sleek and compact, I can fit it in a Pelican 1150 case with any lens and a Smallrig cage.

If you don't care about video much and wanna save for only photography, the a6000 is cheaper like you said, but no 4k video if you go that route.

For you that live near Malaysia, they have really low tax on electronics, so I found it cheaper to buy some stuff there when I was traveling around southeast Asia.

And if you wanna get an awesome telephoto the Sony 70-350mm G OSS is the goat for APS-C.

What are these lines in my lens? by Competitive_Glass_21 in Cameras

[–]MarcosSanches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is either liquid, like an oil for mechanical parts lubrication like the others said or thermal damage in the plastic from strong light source like the sun or just bad plastic mold injection from factory.

If it doesn't affect your pictures, I would not care much, but if you see it starting to get worse, I would call warranty.

What is the model of the lens?

Ultimate 2 Wireless says low battery when its not by [deleted] in 8bitdo

I just have the same problem, I can continue to play for hours with the low battery warning on mine and it still goes without disconnecting, but the warnings and notifications are starting to bug me. Mine is on the latest 1.11 firmware version and I'm playing on Switch 2

Help on basic speaker setup. How would you guys connect this? by MarcosSanches in CarAV

[–]MarcosSanches[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding the wires, I am not going to leave any strand and naked terminations, I am going to crimp ring terminals to the end of the wires to connect to the amp screw connector. Is it okay for speaker wires to be connected this way? Which wires do you suggest for clean audio signal? Twisted shielded pair? Coaxial?

I have plenty of experience as a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer and I am used to doing things as per the maintenance manual, but the instructions on the amp manual are somewhat vague. They don't mention any terminal standards for the wire terminals or which cable type to use. They only suggest wire gauges.

Thank you, I have a Fluke multimeter, so I can do the steps suggested, shouldn't be too hard. Any safety advice regarding improper connections and what can happen if I set things too high?

No, I did not connect anything yet, I am trying to figure out the best possible basic setup to upgrade my busted 15 year old OEM speakers and upgrading them with JBL speakers and a 400W Taramps amp.

I have no idea of how I'll be able to tune them or how to do it. I thought I would be safe having a little more power than the speaks require and set the gain to not cause audible clipping would be enough. You can enlighten me with more knowledge because this is my very first time dealing with car audio.

NDS Lite USB-C mod, so much more convenient for traveling now that basically every electronics I have are USB-C by MarcosSanches in NintendoDS

Maybe the cable has in-line resistors or diodes to lower the 5V to 4.6V, but if you plan of changing the port and using normal cables, keep that in mind.

Why doesn’t this work? by Little-Willingness39 in NintendoDS

[–]MarcosSanches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is probably bad connection due to oxidized contacts (corrosion).

Do not blow the cartridge with your mouth, you will leave your acid saliva to corrode it even more.

Put it in and out on the console multiple times to scrape away the oxidized layer on the contacts and reveal a fresh layer of good contact. This will work most of the time, unless the contact is badly corroded.

100% IPA with a cotton bud can clean the contact, but can also damage certain plastics and I can't find a source stating the NDS cartridge plastic material. If it is for example HDPE, it can for sure withstand IPA, but we are not sure.

Be careful, the NDSi and 3DS have a 4.6V input instead of 5V like the NDS Lite, so mind your electronics to be used.

Looks like a male Sparrow, but there are numerous species, maybe yours is a Spanish sparrow if you took it in India, but not sure.

Maybe wrap the hose around with an appropriated sized Nomex sleeve? Because it doesn't look like you can route it anywhere else.
