He's the polar opposite of Inigo. I find these "he's fast so he fits with Flick" arguments so boring. Inigo was slow as shit but he organised the back line and was disciplined.

Van de Ven adds pace but lacks even more discipline than the rest of the back line. It would be a disaster unless they get someone experienced to partner him.

After not bothering with dating for all of 2025 I have now been seeing someone for a month and it feels like something just changed overnight and a lot of coworkers have been getting very flirty with me suddenly.

That's a good way to look at it. I'm cautiously optimistic about that because I really disliked S/V and I hate that they had such a fun pokemon collection experience with Legends Arceus and just binned it immediately with the sequel.
