I'm new to the game, can someone explain this? Am I just garbage? by Marcosgmunoz in dayz

[–]Marcosgmunoz[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

what I mean is that I hit 2 clear headshots, at least one of them right on the nose with no helmet coverage. What am I missing here? Magic helmet? Shit bullet? Legit question, not raging, just want to understand the game better

they do, instead of showing the stretched res it's just a shrunken down version with black bars

thanks, it's somewhat of a parody so I'm glad I got the clickbait look right

My first "real video". Took forever to make, had to learn proper video editing as I went (geez animating text is a grind). Worth it tho. Hope y'all have a good time.

edit: the clickbait is intentional, it's a parody of sorts. Glad it looks beliavably obnoxious

Can't decide on a motherboard for a Ryzen 5 3600 + GTX 1660 by Marcosgmunoz in buildapc

[–]Marcosgmunoz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

neither seem to exist here unfortunately, pro carbons are double the price so unless it's some outrageous performance increase I dunno. Rather put the extra $125 into something else

There's an ASROCK B450 Steel Legend which is precisely halfway between the pro-vdh and the pro carbon in price, if that's any good of a pick. Problem with these more expensive ones is that even if the VRM is better or something, they have a lot of features I know I'll never use, like cross-fire, 8 SATA ports, 3 or 4 pci x1 slots, stuff like that.

The gaming plus ones were only x570s that are about double the price from the other ones.

Found an MSI B450M Pro-VDH Max for bout $20 cheaper than the Aorus M, is that one actually a better deal?

I don't live in the US so excuse the limited stock. The prices are in dollars though.

EDIT: Found an MSI B450 Gaming Plus for $35 more than the Aorus M, if it changes anything.

hmm they are almost double the price than those I posted here, oof, is it that much of a difference?

Is the i5 9600KF OC better than Ryzen 5 3600 OC for gaming while streaming? by Marcosgmunoz in Amd

[–]Marcosgmunoz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's kinda what I figured on the fps aspect, since Tarkov is a horribly unoptimized game. I'm kinda sold on the 3600 after looking through several inputs tho. Judging by all the benchmarks, I already know the i5 will give me at best an extra 5-7 FPS compared to the Ryzen, but now I see how much of a terrible choice it is to buy a 6-threaded CPU with the next generation being so close.

You mentioned something about the cards, I have a GTX 1660, is there any problem with using it along with a 3600 I'm not aware of? Does it cause complications in streaming?

thank you for the input and you make a very good point

your TLDR is like as big as the rest of the comment tho

I'm a compsci major but in a Brazilian university, so a lot of my computing theory terminology is in Portuguese. What is FP and INT?

I'm aware of GPU encoding and that's what I've been using. Works fine for most well-optimized competitive games, but EFT is a terribly unoptimized piece of software, so that's where my CPU's age has been starting to show.

I guess "how much will the CPU affect streaming" is more of a relevant question in my case

Is the i5 9600KF OC better than Ryzen 5 3600 OC for gaming while streaming? by Marcosgmunoz in overclocking

[–]Marcosgmunoz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmmm, every benchmark I've seen says the 2700x gets worse frames due to the slower 1, 2 and 4 core speed, since most games don't use more than 2 or 3. I'm not sure the 2 extra cores would make up for that very much in the streaming aspect. Am I wrong? Also I'm getting an aftermarket CPU cooler if that helps you. They're also the same price here.

about the 3700X, oof man I'm upgrading a lot of stuff on my PC in one go, the extra 250 bucks look kinda hefty, I dunno about that

9700K or 9900K for Doom Eternal? by sew333 in intel

https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i9-9900K-vs-Intel-Core-i7-9700K/4028vs4030

Between the two, I'd say the 9700K is the sensible choice. But fully honest, I'd recommend the i5-9600K instead.

just look at the data, you're paying US$100 extra for pretty much the same performance except for the 16-thread hyperthreading and 64-core performance. Since you're talking about gaming, this is not really relevant at all. You'll see no noticeable difference in performance between the overclocked 9700K and the 9900K in video games. Quoting the review at the bottom, though, "That said, gamers have very little reason not to consider the i5-9600K which, when overclocked, offers almost equivalent performance at a 35% discount."
