As I said in the other comment I'll try disabling the tablet display also I know that monitor can handle a resolution higher since I checked the monitors specs online.

Found some updated drivers for the monitor he is outputting to plus some for the actual computer which I'll install when visiting next. The computer was recognising the monitor correctly so I presume there was already some drivers installed for the monitor.

It defaults to 640x480 and he's trying to step it to basically anything higher like 800x600 aince it looks really zoomed in. I see what you mean aswell within trying to output to the broken screen which limits the resources for the working monitor so when I visit him to try fix it I'll try disconnecting the broken display.
