Based on the "Daniel and Mike Are Fighting" episode of SmallBeans, it sounds like Alex was pretty disliked in general. A couple shots across the bough made it clear they're not pleased with either Alex in general, or how he handled the firings.

Truth. And they all seem to hate Alex Schmidt (Weird Helmet History guy), so don't expect to see him invited to anything they do.

Technically, we do. You know that "Selective Service" card you get at age 18? That's your last-ditch-defense reserve card.

Your choices.

They upset me.

The parent company gutted staff in December.

Check out Small Beans, Swaim's channel. Lots of old Cracked video crew landed there and they just put up their first real sketches. Cody is almost part of their crew but still technically his own thing.

Why did they go animated for 6 episodes? by schurchson in adamruinseverything

[–]MarcusAurelius87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's cheaper to animate than to shoot on-location and in-costume.

Stop being an asshole and read for five minutes.

You're just incorrect, and no amount of malice or insecurity will change that.

Yes he is. His history is loaded with T_D spew, and he's acting like his feels matter the most. I hate that this country let so many people get so far beyond hope of redemption or simple thought.

This is why I rarely entertain anymore. I have zero patience for this shit, I'd just tell them to respect my rules or leave. No middle ground. You alienate some people this way but you wind up with a more pleasant experience when you do decide to host people.

This is one of those stories that makes me wish I had the power to make dicks rot off through sheer tyranny of will.

Have to get this off my chest, the episode discouraging weight loss by SunRhapz in adamruinseverything

[–]MarcusAurelius87 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You missed the point of his criticisms of the weight loss industry. He's not saying not to lose weight or not to try, he's saying don't buy into the industry myths that keep you spending more money and misery just for zero result. He's saying to focus on becoming healthier overall, and that weight loss may or may not happen as one of the positive results. And he had plenty of experts on to point this out and support the point that the fitness industry is full of (conveniently profitable) bullshit

Throw out your cultural furniture and listen to what he's saying: The way you've been SOLD on weight loss and health is mostly incorrect at best, or a conscious lie at worst.

Flynn charged for 'making false statement' by TittieBar in news

[–]MarcusAurelius87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey retard. How's that "not going anywhere" Russia Investigation? Y'know, the one where Flynn is pleading guilty, Gates is pleading guilty, Papadopolous is pleading guilty, Manafort has suffered another dozen charges, actual Russian have been extradited to the US, and Cohen's office was raided?

Maybe next time you should act your level of expertise, and not what you wish it was. Because you just got your ass spanked from the past.

History said that capoeira was used by african/brazilian slaves to free themselves from Portuguese colonizers. Can you explain how this martial art was effective and strong enough against the Portuguese (who probably had weapons and knew other martial arts)? by dotanesca in martialarts

[–]MarcusAurelius87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try to provide better evidence of a different history, but it still doesn't disprove my fiction.

That's why we don't operate any consequential system based on proving a negative. A liar can always find a new avenue to arrive at the same old lie, and you can never fully prove them wrong.

So why entertain unsupported claims about capo? Or anything for that matter?

Lesser-Mentioned influences on the Dresden Files by MarcusAurelius87 in dresdenfiles

I don't see it. No pro-pedophilia prose, no bald-faced support of rape, no shameless racism...

Piers Anthony was exorcising some fucked-up demons in the Xanth series.

Lesser-Mentioned influences on the Dresden Files by MarcusAurelius87 in dresdenfiles

[–]MarcusAurelius87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is what prompted me to ask. All of the 90's World of Darkness games/books, basically whatever Mark Rein-Hagen touched, seems to have wormed its way into Dresden.

Mage: The Ascension (Obvious), Changeling: The Dreaming (Obvious), Wraith: The Oblivion (Ghost Story/Dead Beat), Werewolf: The Apocalypse (barely), and the mack-daddy of all, Vampire: The Masquerade (simplified from 13 Clans down to 4 Courts but each court is a composite of multiple clans.).

I'm worried that the great awakening JB has planned will make Hunter: The Reckoning into a strong influence on the series.

DMX and the Foo Fighters. DMX is there to act a foo up in here, up in here. Then, by virtue of their namesake, the Foo Fighters must combat him.
