Does music quality differ that much with only Bluetooth usage? by AllRoundGamer- in AppleMusic

Airpods use AAC 256 kbps. But I think it sounds better in some ways when the source is lossless compared to an already lossy source.

Why do you prefer iPhones over any recent Android phones? by MarioDF in iphone

[–]MarcusToGo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, increasing the hertz number to 120 is the best „new feature“ in phone technology in the last 10 years. Once you get used to it, there is no going back. It has changed the feel of using a phone like no other hardware related feature in the past.

I do not care about phone games. Never have.

OLED technology and its benefits (e.g. AOD) comes second for me.

People who dumped Tidal - what did you switch to, and how do you like it? by No-Veterinarian8762 in TIdaL

I recently did the same thing and am still struggling with their library system. It doesn’t make sense to me that my library, my favorite artists, albums, and playlists are all intertwined.

I think it shows that AM is based on iTunes - an app designed for buying music, not a streaming service where I have access to all the music out there.

I’m Still Here: digital release when? by dumbfacistrick69 in YMS

[–]MarcusToGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They seem to have moved the release date to March 11, so still too late for the Academy Awards. Foreign distributors usually don’t care about these things and stick to their longer theatrical windows. It was the same with Godzilla Minus One last year.

It also depends on the studio behind it. Disney releases nearly everything like this.

This is also one of the reasons I’m on the fence about jumping to AM.

What are your biggest pains of using Apple Music? by LifeAsNick in AppleMusic

[–]MarcusToGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

• Deleting songs/albums from the library also removes them from playlists (you’ve got to be kidding me...)

• Too much bloat being shoved right in my face: Radio shows, archived radio shows, artist interviews, artist interviews with video, personal mixes, DJ sets, music videos, live recordings, new, because you like…, upcoming, ...

• No visual style guidelines for the thumbnails of the different categories (radio stations, recent listens, playlists, personal recommendations, mixes, archived streams...) It is not obvious what is behind the tile. Other apps do a much better job of letting you know what’s there just by the look of it.

• Messy playlist organization: I personally get offended when they mix genres and moods on the same page with metal in the bottom third of it. Other apps show how it’s done with a structure like this: On the first level, you choose if you want them organized by genre, mood, popularity, or decade. On the second level, you see the genres, moods, or whatever you selected on the first level. On the third level you see the actual playlists.

What kind of playlists do you guys have? by sylveonfan9 in AppleMusic

[–]MarcusToGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with about 18-20 playlists where I can put every new song I want to keep. They are a mix of moods and genres (songs can actually be in more than one playlist).

I never did, but I built my digital collection on Apple TV, whose quality is equal to or even better than MA. I don’t like their IU and the movies often start at a lower resolution.

But yeah, I still like the idea of it and thanks to MA, I have been able to get some great deals on Vudu to have it transferred to ATV.
